Former British socialite Ghislaine Maxwell was recently charged for her involvement in Jeffrey Epstein's paedophile sex ring, but a recent omission by a juror in her trial could see her walk free.
At the same time, Prince Andrew has been trying to dodge a civil case brought against him by one of Epstein's victims, Virginia Roberts Giuffre, but a judge has just ruled that he will have to stand trial sometime later this year.
So will 2022 finally be the year when the victims get justice, or will the accused wealthy and powerful individuals ultimately walk free?
The Quicky speaks to a British investigative journalist, and a U.S. correspondent to find out what is happening in both of these cases, and whether more people could face court over the decades of abuse and scandal that continue to make headlines around the world.
