When it comes to miscommunication and frustration that happens among us as humans, I believe so much of it comes from not having the ‘whole story’ (even though most of the time, we think we do). In today’s episode, I want to talk with you about handling judgment and criticism from others (I have a personal experience of my own to share), why the concept of choosing curiosity over criticism doesn’t only apply to others, and more.

I’ve learned that open-ended, honest questions can truly allow you to move forward with knowledge and understanding, which greatly helps when it comes to embarrassment, frustration, and miscommunication - especially in relationships. Not being afraid to ask questions, and in return, gain the knowledge and understanding you need, will no doubt positively impact your relationships. I hope this episode encourages you to choose curiosity over criticism when it comes to yourself, and those in the world around you!

She has her BA in human development and masters in social work with an emphasis in clinical mental health. Today’s episode is going to be all about gratitude, because it’s Thanksgiving week in the United States! While it’s amazing to practice gratitude during the month of November, I believe it’s something that is important to do year-round. I’m excited to talk about the two main types of ‘fuel’ the brain runs on (it’s truly fascinating to me how God designed our human brains), what it can look like to have a gratitude practice and joy journal, simple steps for increasing joy in your everyday life, and more.

I recently learned that joy is a supra emotion (meaning it connects with other emotions at the same time) - it’s not just synonymous with happiness like I used to think. Joy is contagious, it’s VERY much needed, and it draws good movement. This is a short and sweet episode, but I hope it’s valuable for you as you focus on fostering joy during your holiday gatherings, and throughout your entire year!

Today’s episode is going to be more of a story-centered one for you, and it’s definitely a good one! I’m excited to share more about how I got to where I am today - essentially, the evolution of Good Movement. I’m talking more about my upbringing in agriculture’s impact on me, what it looked like for me to step away from the career I knew and was comfortable with, why I decided to finally share more about the principles of Good Movement with others, and all of the life that happened in between.

I feel like I’ve always been living the dream (and I don’t mean that sarcastically), but my dreams have changed and evolved as I’ve gone through different seasons in life. I’ve experienced a LOT over the last few years, but ultimately, I know my dream is to help humans truly understand and communicate with their fellow humans. It’s been fun to see all of the pieces of the puzzle come together, and I’m excited for what’s ahead too!
