In this episode of Heal Yourself, Change Your Life®, Brandy Gillmore shares powerful insights from a session with Jane, a loving, ambitious woman who has been living with heart-related challenges, including arrhythmia and SVT, along with autoimmune issues.
As Brandy began working with Jane, a deeply emotional and counterintuitive pattern came into focus: a long-held feeling that as Jane grew, became independent, and moved forward in life, she lost love—especially from her mother. Although her mother was still present in her life, Jane had carried years of hurt, yearning, and a feeling of being unloved that quietly shaped how safe it felt to grow and expand.
This created an internal conflict. On one hand, Jane is driven, independent, and full of goals. On the other, there was a deep emotional association that growing, succeeding, or moving forward meant losing love and connection. That push-pull dynamic—wanting to move forward while feeling it isn't safe to do so—can create powerful internal stress and show up as health challenges that hold a person back.
Brandy also highlights how Jane's strong tendency to "push through" life became another key factor. While pushing through may work in many areas, heart-related symptoms aren't something the body allows you to override. Instead, they require listening, slowing down, and addressing what's happening beneath the surface.
This episode offers eye-opening insight into how emotional associations around love, growth, and independence can quietly influence health, healing, and forward movement in life. Brandy explains why real change doesn't come from forcing yourself forward—but from helping the mind feel that growth, expansion, and healing are safe and supported.
