Denis O'Driscoll is a pharmacist who worked in the addiction services in Ireland for over 22 years. In this episode we discuss the wide variety of drugs that people misuse. From heroin to codeine, steroids to cocaine and benzos to pregabalin- we discuss them all and the effects that they can have on the individuals that misuse them.

We also ask what the legalisation of cannibis would look like,  if codeine should be prescription only and if pregabalin, aka coffin pills,  should be reclassified as a controlled drug. 

Are the addiction services in Ireland fit for purpose? Does the methadone program work? What improvements need to be made? How do we do this?
