Warning: This episode speaks of violence and suicide. Please take care when listening.
Last week 21 year old Lilie James was killed in a Sydney private school, her body found in the bathroom of the school's gym. Her killer is suspected to be 24 year old Paul Thijssen, a man she had dated.
This week the former headmaster of St Andrew's Cathedral School, where Lilie was a teacher and was killed, wrote a letter home to parents and students where he called Thijssen a "delight", "a fine student" and even a "role-model".
Too often we see and hear things like this said by men about men in their lives who have gone on to do unspeakable things to either their wives and partners, or their own children.
In this episode of The Quicky, we take a look at the 'Good Bloke Syndrome' and why it's time some men held a mirror up to their own behaviours to understand what is happening to the women of Australia.
