  • 048 - MOTHERHOOD MONDAY – 3 Tips for Boosting our Kids’ Emotional Intelligence

Think of your favorite people to be around, your favorite people to work with, your favorite leaders – they likely all have a high EQ.  That’s what makes them so great to be around!

The good news for us parents is that all of our kids have the capacity to learn emotional intelligence skills. They just need us to coach them and help them co-regulate until they can do it on their own.

Listen to today’s episode for 3 ways we can encourage our kids as they grow their emotional intelligence.  I coach on how we can help our children build their emotional vocabulary and why it’s so important that we validate our children’s feelings and teach them how to express their emotions in a healthy way.

  • 047 - Discover Your Personality Pattern and Understand Why You Do the Things You Do

Have you ever wondered why you do the things you do? Why do you get so angry when your kids aren't listening to you? Why is it so hard to relax when the house is a mess?!

Here's what's going on - as a child, whenever an experience overwhelmed our nervous system, we subconsciously built defenses against that overwhelm.

Over time, those defenses become a habit, and then they become a pattern. Now as an adult, what we think of as our personality, is often this defense pattern running the show. So interesting, right?!

Today I’m coaching on the 5 Personality Patterns - Leaving, Merging, Enduring, Aggressive, & Rigid - and I'm going to explain how each Pattern originates in childhood.  I also coach on how each Pattern usually shows up so you can learn which Pattern you tend to go into when you're stressed or overwhelmed.

  • 046 - MOTHERHOOD MONDAY - 3 Ways to Help our Kids Grow in Wisdom

Wisdom is the combination of knowledge and experience. And because of that, I often wonder how much wisdom my kids can reasonably be expected to have!

But a few days ago, my daughter told me one of the wisest things I've heard, and it got me thinking about the things we can do to raise wise children, even from a young age.

In today's episode, you'll learn how we can teach our kids to see the big picture, ask for wisdom, and how encouraging them to grow in their identity will help them grow in their wisdom.

Today's episode is a game changer, friends!  We’re talking about boundaries, and how to create and set them with love.

As a recovering people pleaser, I'd spent years struggling with setting healthy boundaries.  I really had to come to an understanding that if boundaries are set with the right intention - if they come from a place of love - then they can actually make our relationships stronger.

In today's episode, I coach you on how to take a B.E.A.T when you're deciding whether you need to set a boundary.  I also guide you through a simple 4-step framework on how to establish clear and healthy boundaries with love.

  • 044 - MOTHERHOOD MONDAY – 3 Ways to Help our Kids Learn the Art of Contentment

Did you know that contentment has quite little to do with our circumstances? The bulk of what determines our contentment is our thoughts and behaviors (which can be changed!).

True contentment really starts with a deep acceptance of the present. It’s hard to be content when we’re stuck in the past or worried about the future, right?

In today's episode, you'll learn how to take advantage of the opportunities we have as parents to teach our kids the thoughts and behaviors that lead to true and lasting contentment.

Listen in to learn how gratitude, breaking the buying habit, and exploring their purpose can help our little ones discover a life of contentment.

Paola invites us to shift our paradigm around failure and overcome the fear of failing that is holding us back from living the life of our dreams.

“Once I had that revelation - I'm either winning or I'm learning - it made taking the plunge, taking that step, doing the things that look really scary, a little bit more doable because now I’m thinking I'm either going to win or I'm going to learn.” – Paola Soares

  • 042 - MOTHERHOOD MONDAY - 4 Ways to Teach our Children Humility

At its core, humility is really just our kids’ ability to consider others ahead of themselves.

When it comes to raising humble kids, I think the aim is twofold.  First, we want our kids to have a secure identity – identity is clutch when it comes to humility. Second, we want to raise children who are open-minded about new information, new ideas, new perspectives, and new possibilities!

In this episode, you're going to learn how meeting our children's needs is the single greatest way to foster a secure attachment and a spirit of confident humility.  I also give some coaching around how our kids' identities, mistakes, and willingness to serve others play huge roles in their humility.

  • 041 - How to Break Free from Self-Doubt and Stop Second Guessing Yourself

Where in your life do YOU struggle with self-doubt?

Maybe it's shown up when you set a boundary.  Maybe it's when you've had something to say, but the self-doubt crept in and you stayed quiet.  Maybe it was a parenting decision you made and you can't stop wondering whether you made the right choice.  Or maybe it’s a dream you want to chase, but your self-doubt keeps telling you that you’re not qualified.

We all face moments of self-doubt. The key is to figure out how to move past it.  Because if we don’t, self-doubt will sabotage us.  It'll keep us playing small.  And playing small is going to prevent us from reaching our goals, friends.

Listen to this episode to learn exactly what to do when self-doubt and imposter syndrome creep in.  I teach you how to stop second-guessing yourself and change your inner dialogue so you can work with your inner critic, rather than against it!

  • 040 - MOTHERHOOD MONDAY - Raising our Kids to Embody Gratitude Beyond Saying “Thank You”

Anytime my kids get anything from anyone, I immediately turn into that cringy mom that’s like “and what do you say????” And every dang time, I’m expecting them to give a big hug and enthusiastic THANK YOU! And almost every time, I get some sort of sheepish mumbled "thank you" at best.  I know I'm not the only one!

And it got me thinking, my kids can say "thank you" regardless of whether they deeply experience gratitude. Do I really just want my kids to say the words, or do I want it to be deeper than that – do I want them to really embody a life of deep gratitude?

Gratitude is an internal experience. In today's episode, I teach about the four parts of gratitude (notice, think, feel, do) and how we can foster them in our children.
