Do difficult workplace conversations terrify you?
Does the idea of having to tell a colleague something they won’t like make you just want to pack up for the day and go home instead?
If that’s the case then returning guest Dom Price might have the mindset flip and strategies you need to approach these conversations with enthusiasm instead of trepidation.
Dom is the resident Work Futurist at Atlassian one of the largest software businesses in the world and has responsibilities spanning 7 global R&D centres.
On top of that he is a celebrated keynote speaker and a former Director of Deliotte.
I wanted to talk to Dom about having difficult conversations in the workplace and was honestly surprised by some of the insights he shared.
In this episode Dom shares:
Key Quotes:
“You don’t course correct well by accident, you course correct on purpose.”
“We’ve spent so long talking about psychological safety that we’ve not realised it’s a set of actions, it’s not a set of words.”
“Preparation is good. Over preparation isn’t good.”

In the fast paced, work focused world we live in, is hitting burnout now just inevitable for all of us?
Last year I suffered from intense burnout and hit an all-time work low.
One close friend who helped me through this period was Sabina Read, a psychologist, regular contributor on 3AW and resident psychologist at Seek.
It was on one of our regular catch-up walks that I confessed my experience of burnout to Sabina, and it was her advice and understanding that helped me work through it.
Sabina and I share:

Tired of explaining the same details every time you open a new chat with Gen AI? There’s a fix for that, and it can completely change how you work. It’s called a briefing document, and it turns Gen AI into a tool that sounds like you, knows your context, and delivers exactly what you need, without all the back-and-forth.
In this episode, Neo Aplin, Inventium’s Gen AI guru, explains how to create and use briefing documents so you get better, faster results from your AI every time.
We discuss:
Key quotes:
“A briefing document is like a cheat sheet for your AI, so it knows your voice, your goals, and what you care about.”
“If you’re sick of hearing, ‘I hope this email finds you well,’ your AI probably isn’t reading your briefing doc.”
“Upload the document once, and you’ll spend way less time tweaking outputs.”

If you’re wrestling with Gen AI prompts - getting outputs that are “just okay” and wasting time going back and forth, you’re probably doing it wrong. Neo Aplin, Inventium’s Gen AI expert, calls this “gunslinging.” It’s a fast-and-loose approach that leads to mediocre results. The smarter way? It’s called “architecting”- a method that helps you co-create with AI for complex tasks like strategy papers, training workshops, and reports.
In this episode, Neo breaks down how to use architecting to get AI working like a true thinking partner and not just a text generator.
We discuss:
Key quotes:
“Most people are gunslingers - they shoot from the hip and hope for the best.”
“Architecting is like designing a house before you build it. It makes the whole process faster, smoother, and way more effective.”
“If you want AI to work as a true thinking partner, you need to co-create with it - not just give it a prompt and hope for the best.”

You can be ticking off goals, crushing deadlines, and still feel like you’re missing the point. If your time and energy aren’t going where they should, it might be because you’re tracking the wrong scoreboard. In this episode, we explore how to reset the way you measure progress - so your actions align with what truly matters.
I’m joined today by Sahil Bloom, New York Times bestselling author of The Five Types of Wealth and Managing Partner of SRB Ventures. Sahil shares how to stay grounded in the middle of chaos, build richer relationships, and create space for reflection - without needing a complete life overhaul.
We unpack how to spot when you’re drifting, what a broken scoreboard looks like, and why tiny rituals can have an outsized impact when life gets overwhelming.

Tired of typing prompts into AI tools and reading static answers? There’s a better way. Advanced voice mode lets you talk to your AI - brainstorm ideas, rehearse tough conversations, and get real-time feedback like you would from a coach or a collaborator.
In this episode, we are joined by Inventium’s GenAI expert Neo Aplin to break down what advanced voice mode is, how it works, and why it might just change the way you use AI forever.
In this episode we learn:
Key quotes:
“It's not like you're talking to a robot. It’s much more like you're talking to a human.”

What are values really - and how do you know if you’re living in alignment with them? In this episode, I sit down with clinical psychologist Dr. Emily Musgrove (aka Dr. Em from The Imperfects) to explore how we get stuck in patterns of people-pleasing, avoiding conflict, and living on autopilot - and how to reconnect with the things that matter most.
Dr. Emily Musgrove is a clinical psychologist, author of Unstuck, and the Resident Psychologist on Australia’s top mental health podcast, The Imperfects. In this conversation, we delve into how to recognise when you're out of sync with your values, why it's challenging to break free from people-pleasing habits, and what it truly means to say no without guilt.
Dr. Em shares:
Key Quotes
“Values are like heading west - you never get there. It’s an ongoing direction to return to.”
“The question is: What is this yes for?”
“I’m noticing I’m having the thought that I’m a failure. That tiny shift creates space.”
