Robert Valenzuela, MD, is a board-certified urologist recognized for delivering high-quality, patient-focused care in the field of urology. His areas of specialization include prosthetic urology, sexual dysfunction, post-prostatectomy urinary incontinence, benign prostatic hypertrophy (BPH), and Peyronie’s disease, along with a strong focus on medical education.

Widely regarded for his expertise in the surgical management of erectile dysfunction and urinary incontinence, Dr. Valenzuela is notably one of the leading figures in this field in the Northeast region. As a dedicated educator, Dr. Valenzuela frequently conducts seminars for patient education and delivers lectures to both urologists and primary care physicians on topics such as men’s health, erectile dysfunction, and urinary incontinence. His international and national training sessions for medical professionals cover specialized surgical techniques in inflatable penile prosthesis insertion, male slings, Artificial Urinary Sphincters, Prostatic Urethral Lift (Urolift) procedures, and complex prosthetic revisions and replacements. 

His innovative contributions include the development of the Sub-Coronal Inflatable Penile Prosthesis (SC-IPP) procedure and the Modified Sliding Technique (MoST/MuST), and the evaluation of the scrotal approach to Tunica Expansion Procedure for restoration of penile length at the time of penile prosthesis insertion. Formerly the Director of Penile Prosthesis Surgery at Mount Sinai Department of Urology, he currently holds the position of Co-Director of the Genitourinary Reconstructive Surgery Fellowship Program.
