  • How Sarah's balancing going back to work with her health goals
  • Talking about our health/weight loss goals: Jenn didn't share with roommates in college, Sarah did share with her current roommate
  • Doing this alone is hard & a study about having support on this journey 
  • Talking to the wellness ally:
  • Has anyone share their health goals with you? Initial responses matter.
  • It can be confronting for the ally
  • Let the person on the health path drive the conversation
  • Grace & compassion - in meals, social plans, etc.
  • Make plans that don't have food as the focus, experiences and activities instead or in addition 
  • Choose restaurants with healthful options
  • For dessert...offer once.
  • Compliments & how to notice results
  • Avoid being the subtle saboteur
  • Be indifferent to the details
  • When we feel others around us need to focus on their health
  • How to be silently supportive
  • Let your example be the invitation
  • Be balanced, your extreme doesn't compensate for their decisions
  • When you're on the wellness journey
  • Enlist the support of a coach
  • Find wellness and activity friends
  • Choose carefully who you share this with and tell them what to do to support you
  • A final note to the ally, what kind of friend do you want to be?
