No one who goes through sexual abuse had it easy. Not even many of us know it's happening all over. It is one thing you wouldn't want anybody to experience. In many of my clients, this is one reason that keeps them from fully living life; this is where they got stuck. Who can blame them? People subjected to this trauma are the most insecure, face body image issues, think low of themselves, and believe they are not good enough and will never be good enough. They've got disempowering thoughts in their minds making it all the more difficult to live their authentic selves. What's worse, they're scared to tell anyone of what they have been through. And this is what drags them down the pit of hopelessness. One's inability to succeed with weight loss is the same as sexual abuse - fear of putting themselves out there. The shame you are made to feel with what happened to you is unbearable. The mind feeds an overpowering thought of negativity that renders one powerless to let go of the past. That is why part of fully healing from it all is owning up to it, not getting scared, and bravely telling your story. Fact is those people who hear your story applauds the bravery you've mustered because you've shown brilliance where they've demonstrated silence for the longest time, but which they've been longing to get the freedom from. When you start changing the way you feel, that's when you start changing the way you act. Hypnosis can help you when you don't feel like you don't know how to stop your mind's malicious chatters. You can reach out to me so we can begin your journey to full healing and recovery. "But the magic that happens when you start to actually share your actual story, you have no idea how brilliant that is." - Leslie Thornton

How do you rise when you're stripped of that one fundamental right accorded every human being, your dignity as a person? How can you even bring yourself to forget the thought of the gory, terror, and hellish state you went through in the hands of perverts whose existence everyone wishes to perish in a snuff? Anyone who has been subjected to such a traumatic predicament has a hard time making sense of the situation. How can you not when all those harrowing memories are etched in the depths of your subconsciousness? A deep healing has to take place. For this to materialize you need to go past the challenges that come with it. Say yes to a commitment of embarking on a journey of freedom from what's holding you back to live up to your best self fully.
Jeweliet Tangen grew up in a form of sex slavery until she was 6 years old. She was abused, raped, and tortured almost daily- until her adoptive mother, Cheryl rescued her.
After suddenly losing her mom, Jeweliet dedicated herself to entrepreneurship, knowing all along that it was leading to starting this charity.
In this episode, find out how she became a millionaire by the age of twenty and help put up a charity. To us, that is one brilliant achievement for such a young lady of her generation. But before that, perfect-worthy-to-emulate-achievement life was once a very delicate child made to undergo the most heart-wrenching life experience you could ever imagine. Her life story was one of deeply ingrained trauma of sexual abuse in the most sordid sense. The story didn't just end there, as she got adopted. For the time being, she felt the love a child could ever ask for a single mother who brought her best interest at heart until she passed away not many years later after she got her. She was made to change homes for as long as she can remember. These experiences don't help her fully grasp the good life that she has adjusted to earlier. The only choice she had was to live on her own and embrace the full independence of living alone at the age of sixteen. That's when she tried to earn her keep until that fateful day she met a company that helped her to become what she is today.
Her life story is a deeply ingrained trauma that keeps resurfacing in some aspects of her life. She has to contend with that body image, relationships that aren't nurturing, a false sense of self-worth, to add to it. The reason why she goes into all sorts of therapy to get through all those. That's one best thing about her, acknowledging the need to have someone else help her sort things within. She used to be not comfortable talking about her story before, but this time she's learned to speak up and made to resonate with everyone, especially those who share the same experience as hers. Though there is so much mind work that has to happen to get her out of that past trauma fully, what is one thing that keeps her finding joy in life is surrounding herself with people who brings positive vibes despite themselves. And not to forget the charity that she helps build to help children in the same situation as she was before, the We Rescue Kids. With the seemingly impossible task of getting past the shadows of her past, she's proved to one and all that you can beat the odds.

Our mind is a meaning-making machine. It always creates thoughts that often breed self-doubt, insecurity, fear, scarcity thoughts, and what have you. More than blaming our genes for weight issues, let's take a more in-depth look at the deep-seated emotions that have been there in our subconscious state since our childhood. The trauma that we have been subjected to as a child surfaces in ways we think as normal but is, in fact, detrimental. Our poor body image and attitude around food can be traced back to experiences we've had as a child embedded in us, and we fail to address it for the longest time. At times, we may not notice it, but our personal issues manifest in the way we deal with food because, most often than not, that's the most accessible aspect we can find solace in. Unless we learn to acknowledge and admit that an inside job is necessary, that's when a transformational change in us happens. For that to happen, we need a support system to guide us through this journey. We need to practice it, and at the same time, always reinforce it every time to stay on the course of what we want to achieve.
Carol May is a Disruptive Health Coach & Intuitive Eating Expert, Coach, and Speaker. She is the Director of a business she started herself called 'All Shapes and Sizes Solutions.' She works with women of all shapes and sizes who are in a war against their body and daily battles with food but who are sick of yoyo dieting. She teaches a program based on the premise that we don't need to follow someone else's food rules, ever!
In this episode, Carol shares how she's been into all kinds of dieting since childhood, but with no effect at all, getting her fatter than ever, and living a life of unhealthy restrictions. Her poor body image led her to seek what was unnecessary. And, as a result, contributed negatively to her body and her overall well-being. Personal issues with her marriage didn't help either. Before she knew it, she's been keeping rules for herself for years instead of making empowered life choices. Her life is a testament of breaking free from the negative self-talk we mostly feed our mind making us resort to food every time. How she overcame that and completely started life anew is what she shares with us.
"When I trained in counseling, I became aware of the language's effect and how what we say to ourselves is the most powerful thing. And if we realize that we have a choice, and if we become aware of what we're saying to ourselves, that's where the power is." - Carol May

If we take a closer look, oftentimes we find ourselves pretending to be happy. We don't want others to know that we are not okay, we want them to see us as in control of ourselves. And when we are overwhelmed with different emotions that's when it keeps showing other areas of our life and body that are failing. Our body manifests the signs that something inside is not right. That is why we need to do something to remedy what we have been suppressing all along. What we fail to acknowledge is that we are actually scared to face our own fears. The reason why we can't come out and be real. We are afraid of abandonment, and people may leave us if they see our vulnerability. We have already set a pattern for ourselves with what we think and do, thereby creating that mindset that life is just the way and we are made to deal with it on our own the hard way. And what actually happens is that we leave it as it is, it just goes on like a festering wound.
Hypnosis provides tools for us to come in contact with our subconscious and finally tap into that underlying voice, taming it, quieting it so we can flourish in all areas of our lives. These tools actually help us uncover the fears that have been lying there for years that need to be put out there and dealt with once and for all. There is no other way to get past it but to actually experience it, feel the dread, the pain, the hardship, and once we learn to fully let it go and face what goodness lies ahead, that's when we fully have freedom around everything else in life especially around food that we so dread the most. That's when self-awareness begins to weave its transformational power on us.
It's when we fully believe in one thing that it has the capacity to heal us, that's when that truly happens. Science has backed this up with studies done which have also been proven as evidenced by cancer survivors in remission. Besides there is a connection of spirituality here as it empowers us to create miracles in our lives as Jesus did, we just have to fully believe we can overcome it, that the process works. It truly does work as it has done to me.
"In order to feel all of the immense joy and happiness in life, you have to also be willing and able to also feel the immense pain and sadness and hard times." - Leslie Thornton

Whether we like it or not, part of why we are having issues with overeating and weight problems is because of unhealthy relationships we have in life. That could be with ourselves, our food, and even our family members and loved ones. When we have low self-esteem towards ourselves, constantly self-criticizing our flaw, that triggers us to wallow in pity, and we resort to food for solace. Before we know it, there we are again in the depths of obsessing about weight loss. It's as if it's the only thing that matters to us; we could not even appreciate the green trees around that we walk by every day. The same with food, with us, labelling it as good or bad adds up to the pressure - negative thoughts that are already crowding our mind, thereby pushing us to binge-eat even more. With family dynamics that aren't perfect, we are holding up inside pent-up emotions that often lead us to blame ourselves, our weight, our work, and our lives. All of these matters aren't supposed to rule our lives. And all of these are concerns that need immediate attention and action. To fully function as great individuals and become the person we have always aspired to become, we need to work on areas in our broken lives. Only then can we become fully present at the moment. This is where hypnosis for permanent weight loss does its part. It helps in accessing our subconscious state to quiet down parts in our body that is always telling us to doubt ourselves. When all of these are being brought to the surface and taken care of, that's when healing takes place, and you become aware of things that no longer matter to you and that you have all the freedom to do what you want for yourself because you are no longer scared. You will learn to understand why your family and loved ones act the way they do, and that's when self-acceptance and loving yourself begin because all of these are never about your weight, the food, and other people. It is never about changing outside of you. It is all about what needs to be changed within. And it is all about you.
"When we are constantly bearing that cross of relationships that are not working, it's weighing us down, and it makes us tired, it makes us unhappy. And then we start blaming things like our weight and our job and all of these outside things. But the truth is that it's all within you." - Leslie Thornton
