Inflammation is a term that is thrown around a lot these days, including in our podcast!
In this episode, I want to walk you through what the term inflammation really means, and what it indicates, so that you can be well educated and informed.
Inflammation is a biological response of the immune system that can be triggered by a variety of factors, including pathogens, damaged cells, and toxic compounds. These factors may induce acute and/or chronic inflammatory responses in the pulmonary system, cardiovascular system, digestive system and reproductive system, potentially leading to tissue damage or disease. In the short-term, inflammation is a good thing! It is a necessary system our body employs to kick-start the healing process. However, uncontrolled acute inflammation may become chronic, continuously activating inflammatory pathways and contributing to a variety of chronic inflammatory diseases.
Learn what can cause chronic inflammation, and how you can protect yourself against it as you join us in this week's episode of the Renegade Nutrition podcast!
