  • Episode 41: Putting Fun First With Paul Lowe Of Sweet Paul

So excited to bring you this interview with Paul Lowe of Sweet Paul magazine! Lots of incredible nuggets of wisdom and advice from this crazy-talented man.

Paul and I talk about the early beginnings of his career in Norway, how his path shifted when he came down with blogger-fatigue, his big advice on growing your own creative brand, and his thoughts on bacon, the Kardashian/Jenners, and word the"bae." We didn't agree on that last one.

  • Episode 40: Living Good Content With Beth Kirby Of Local Milk

WE ARE BACK! Season Two is kicking off with one of my favorite episodes of Season Two. Yeah, I said it. No crystal ball over here, I just know it will be – it's that good. I'm talking to Beth Kirby. She's a photographer, creative consultant, stylist, and the creator of the beautiful website Local Milk.

Beth and I talk about the past struggles that led her to where she is today, how she said "so long" to the toxic relationships in her life, the new direction for her cooking, and how she's creating her best content on and offline. You'll also hear firsthand what it's like to truly fall in love. Like, you'll literally get to hear it. You'll see what I mean. Go listen, already!

P.S. It's good to be back. Hoping you can make the Trenchermen dinner that I shared in the intro. Call for reservations at 773-661-1540.

  • Episode 39: Doing It Because You Love It With Erin Gleeson Of The Forest Feast

It's the Season One finale of the One Part Podcast! One whole year has gone by since launching the first episode. It's so crazy! There's been lots of laughing, some tears, many an F-bomb, and tons of planty recipes.

I cannot thank you all enough for listening, sharing the episodes, tweeting up a storm, and just plain supporting the show. You've helped create a cool and thoughtful OPP community that we can all be part of, and I love you all so much for it.

For the finale, I wanted to go big! So I headed to Instagram to ask you who you wanted to hear. There were so many great suggestions (some I'll for sure be using in Season Two) – but I could only choose one….

Today's guest is Erin Gleeson from The Forest Feast! She's cool, a super-talented photographer, a NYT Times best-selling author, and just a freaking nice person. And you know we're all about nice people around here.

In this episode, Erin and I discuss leaving her career behind in NYC to move to a cabin in the woods, how that move influenced the career she has today, her inspiring approach to creating and maintaining her brand, and her advice on putting your work out there.

  • Episode 38: Diet Culture, Emotional Eating, And Learning To Love Your Body With Isabel Foxen Duke

This week I'm talking to body-positive advocate and emotional-eating expert Isabel Foxen Duke. Former OPP guest Katie Dalebout suggested her as a guest, and I'm so glad she did! Isabel really brought it to this episode.

In our chat, Isabel and I discuss how she landed in rehab after abusing drugs to control her weight, her path from working in finance to becoming a certified health coach, the problem with our diet culture, and the number one thing she believes you have to change in order to have a healthy relationship with food.

  • Episode 37: Practice Makes Perfect + Self-Publishing A Book With Dana Shultz of Minimalist Baker

You probably already know that I love Dana Shultz from Minimalist Baker (seen here and here). But like most of my internet girlfriends, we hadn't ever actually spoken before this podcast. But based on our emails, her Lil Jon and Martin references, and her undying dedication to creating new dairy-free mac & cheese recipes, I knew that we'd hit it off (and we did).

In this episode, Dana and I discuss her decision to ditch the traditional publisher route and self-publish her cookbook, her top tips for creating a website that Google loves, how she's taken her photography skills to the next level, and the most important thing she believes you need to have a successful website.

  • Episode 36: Healing After Loss + Protecting Your Online Privacy With Melissa Baswell Williams

On this week's episode, I talk to Melissa Baswell Williams – the designer and founder of the lifestyle website Bubby & Bean. I had never spoken to or met Melissa before this interview but have always had a lot of love for her. When my brand was just starting, she asked me to be on her site. I had a handful of Instagram followers, not a lot of readers, and was just figuring stuff out. But Melissa didn't care and still wanted me anyway. She's sweet like that.

In our talk, Melissa shares for the first time the very personal and intimate details behind the creation of her website, how it helped her cope with a traumatic event in her life, and why she decided to start taking her family's online privacy seriously.

  • Episode 35: The Nitty Gritty On Gluten, Oil, And Soy With Dr. Thomas Campbell Of The Campbell Plan

This week's podcast is pretty special. I had the opportunity to speak with the co-author of one of THE most influential books in health, wellness, and plant-based nutrition. It's Dr. Thomas Campbell, who cowrote The China Study with his father, Dr. T. Colin Campbell. The book has sold over 1 million copies and inspired the film Forks Over Knives. Their work has transformed thousands of lives across the world, including my own. I'm pretty excited about this one!

Tom and I discuss why he needed to write his new book, The Campbell Plan, his thoughts on the hottest health topics out there – gluten, soy, and oil (you might be surprised to hear what he thinks), raising a healthy family, and the number one thing he says is vital in successfully changing your diet.

  • One Part Pledge / A Challenge From Rose Lazar Of The Great Lakes Goods

This week I'm talking to one of my biggest art/design idols, Rose Lazar. I admire her so much and couldn't wait to get her on the podcast. I admire for hundreds of reasons: she's the best gift-giver I know, she makes all of her products by hand (her own hands) for her company, The Great Lakes Goods, and she loves Drake even more than I do. And that's a lot.

But the thing I admire most about Rose is that she does exactly what she wants every single day. She only makes what she loves and only sells what she truly cares about. And when you have your own business, that's not always the easiest thing to do. But she's mastered it and gives great insight on this episode on exactly how she's pulled it off.

You'll have to listen in to hear Rose's challenge. But whether you decide to take the pledge or not, I'm pretty sure you'll walk away with a new idol too.

    Here's Rose:

If you decide to take the pledge:

    1. Take the pledge and keep it to yourself. Tell no one or maybe just your best friend at dinner. Write it in your diary. Say it out loud to your bathroom mirror. Do you.

    2. Take the pledge and share in the comments here. It's a great place to talk with fellow pledgers. And also a great place to ask any questions you might have about the challenge.

    3. Take the pledge and tweet it. Share on Twitter and tag it with #onepartpledge. Challenge someone else you know to take part in it. These things are always easier with friends.

    4. Take the pledge and Instagram it. Take a photo of yourself holding up the OPP hand sign (it's above) or a photo of you doing the challenge. You don't even have to show your face. Get creative with it. And make sure to tag me, so I see you! #onepartpledge

If you miss a challenge or aren't ready for it right now, that's ok. This isn't like an episode of Game of Thrones. You can miss one and still know what the hell is going on.

    Let's do it!!

  • Episode 34: Choosing To Live + Finding Your Voice With Sahar Paz

I talk a lot and have a tendency to overshare. But I'm feeling a little speechless when it comes to describing Sahar Paz. I've been sitting in front of my computer for twenty minutes trying to figure out what to say about this incredible woman.

My interview with her was like none I've had before. There aren't many people that have survived what she's been through. And even fewer people that have survived and then made it their life's work to help others do the same. She's one of the most inspiring women I've ever talked to, and I'm just so proud to share her story. Hear for yourself why she's my new superhero.
