Welcome! And thank you for listening. In this episode, I sit down with Dr. Tro Kalayjian, a physician who has dedicated his career to helping people understand obesity, food addiction, and metabolic health. Dr. Tro shares his own journey with obesity, including losing more than 150 pounds after years of struggling with weight and following conventional approaches to nutrition. We discuss insulin resistance, low carbohydrate nutrition, intermittent fasting, food addiction, binge eating, and the ways shame and guilt can make weight loss even more difficult. We also explore the complex relationship between ketogenic diets, cholesterol, and metabolic health, and why individualized care and continued research are so important. Thanks as always for listening. Connect with Dr. Tro here: https://toward.health/providers/dr-tro-kalayjian/ https://www.youtube.com/c/DrTroKalayjian If you would like to join us. It really is not that easy. If it were more people would be plant based. There are certainly obstacles and some may live in the same household. Be brave. Choose health. Stay strong. I enjoy every plant strong meal. Not only because they are nutrient dense but because they taste good. Experiment maybe one time per week and keep the good recipes that your family enjoy. Try a new vegetable or fruit each week. Check out Instagram for some healthy meals. The winner this week for me was eggplant bacon. I never really cared for pork bacon but this has a really good flavor. Exercise is not going to cure you but it will add to your overall health by making your bones stronger and your body more efficient and flexible. Don't accept loosing mobility as a part of aging. I recently did a yoga class on the beach and the instructor appeared at least in her sixties but her mobility was more in her twenties. Set goals and go for them. Don't settle. You probably will not become the perfect plant strong vegan overnight but a step in the right direction each day adds up. Email me at [email protected] or check out the website at doctordulaney.com. I would love the opportunity to help.

Welcome to episode 77!. Just me this episode. It is Memorial Day Weekend. A time to honor the fallen and remember their sacrafice for us. It is also a time of gathering friends and neighbors for cookouts. That means grilling for the masses. And a scary time to be plant based, potentially. But fear not there are plant based salads that would turn a carnivores head and Riblets! Seitan riblets on the grill and veges on the grill. Corn in the husk with red pepper sauce for dipping. Giant fruit salads. The best of both worlds. Eating til full but not feeling poorly because of the nutrient density of the food. I give you some insight to day one of my nutrition class and we discuss some dishes I have been enjoying. Contact me with questions at [email protected] or doctordulaney.com. Enjoy!

Welcome. Tonight I invite you to sit in on my office nutrition class graduation night. It is the 6th and final session for this class. Some students are seasoned plant strong cooks and others are just learning the why and how of eating plant strong. I am always happy with the way the classes support and encourage each other. Plant strong pearls are acquired as well as plant strong friendships. The students get healthier in mind and body. The class is certainly my favorite time of the day. I hope you enjoy the interactions. The sound is not perfect but I believe the points come across. If you would like to contact me a [email protected], I would love to hear from you. Check out my website at doctordulaney.com. The recipes share were a sushi salad and a pistachio cake. I will post the recipes in my next newsletter.
