In this rendition of The Way Out we’ve got a Way Out Podcast first with Jason A, who appeared on our very first episode way back in March of 2016 and is the only person we’ve interviewed more than once, and as you’ll learn for very good reason. Much has happened in the span of that 5 plus years and 250 episodes later in the evolution of this podcast as you’ll discover if you dare to venture back to our opening episode featuring Jason and compare it to our most recent offerings. His story is truly inspiring and also a work in progress, as is this podcast. Much has been learned since and indeed the same is true in Jason’s journey to and through recovery to this point. Jason shares candidly about his struggles with relapse which ultimately led to liver failure, and quite literally ending up accepting his condition was terminal and death was extremely near. In what would amount to be a miracle in getting approved for a transplant, Jason shares his transplant journey and what life is like today post-transplant thriving in recovery. Jason’s journey is proof positive that recovery is not linear nor is it perfect, indeed we stumble, we fall down, and if we keep working toward it we can indeed regain our footing and achieve meaningful and enduring recovery so listen up.
