In Lamentations 3, we get a short intermission from despair for a few verses of hope and trust in God. (Don't worry; we'll be back to lamenting next week.) Suzie Lind, Mike Erre, Kevin Dixon and Tim Timmons answer listener questions about the God who's with us even when things don't get fixed. But first, we're doing deep on Christmas carols and crushes.

We're reminded this week that advent begins in darkness. And, so we begin a four-week study of Lamentations. Layla Shahmohammedi joins Kevin Dixon, Tim Timmons and Suzie Lind as they consider current laments from our own community and explore how to relate to God in the midst of despair.

On Sunday, we continued studying Jeremiah's warnings to the Israelites, spotlighting how they began to image other gods instead of Yahweh. As Mike Erre put it, we become like what we worship. Not that there's anything relevant these days in that idea, but our community had lots of questions about idols, disagreement, forgiveness and reconciliation. So, Tim Timmons, Kevin Dixon and Suzie Lind are here to help respond to those queries.

In this week’s Jeremiah study, we learned how the Israelites thought they were safe from judgement because of the temple in their midst. That got listeners asking about group vs individual responsibility, warnings for our own arrogant times and more. Tim Timmons, Kevin Dixon, Suzie Lind and Mike Erre respond.
