Your lawyer will guide you on the negotiation of your divorce agreement, but depending on how old your kids are, they may be focused on the next few years and possibly not be considering what the situation will look like when your kids are older teens and even young adults. It is so important to consider as much as you possibly can into the future, in order to best protect yourself and your children. Who will cover all the costs for the sports they play in high school and college? Who will pay for flights home if they go to college far away? Who pays expenses if they move back home after college? Listen to everything we learned when creating our divorce agreements because even your lawyer may not talk about some of these things!
