One could say today’s guest is the greatest ultra endurance and backcountry mountain bikers of all time - the GOAT. He is on the Industry Nine Pivot Pro Backcountry Team, founder of UltraMTB, co-founder of backcountry-mtb.com, and co-founder of Bikepacking Roots, a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting the growing bikepacking community. He holds multiple fastest known times including the Arizona Trail 750, The Grand Loop, Kokopelli Trail (past FKT), Comstock Epic and the Coconino 250. He’s also won various ultra races including the Tour Divide, x8 time Arizona Trail 300 winner, Colorado Trail, Trans North Georgia, Stagecoach 400, Fat Pursuit, and many more. In 2023, he became one of the few people (4th ever) to complete the Continental Divide Trail by bike, not to be confused with the Tour Divide, this is almost entirely single track and difficulty level is magnified. He’s a professor and has his PhD in geological sciences and a humble and generous person who somehow finds the time to do all these things and give back to the community and advocate for the use of public lands.
