Welcome to This Glorious Mess Little Kids. A twice-weekly look at parenting as it really is - confusing, exhausting, inspiring, funny, and full of surprises. So many surprises!
On average new mums are sent home three days after giving birth, often without the postnatal emotional and physical support they're probably going to need.
But the fourth trimester doesn't have to be like this. In cultures outside of the western world, it's a time for new mums to be with family, be pampered, rest and be supported.
Postpartum doulas are here to bridge that gap. But what do they actually do? And are they necessary or a bit ... indulgent? We're joined by Naomi Chrisoulakis, a postpartum doula joins us to answer all our burning questions
Plus, we have a new segment, our recommendations of the week!
