His words have been circulating through my mind ever since and I have started to look at and re-review the research around the effects of doing things hard aka stressfully vs doing them joyfully and mindfully.

Good ole gratitude, based on my research, first started to appear in psychological studies around 2003 with reference to positive psychology and the many benefits we derive from a gratitude practice.

However gratitude past saying and receiving thank you's isn't taught, so how do we start to cultivate a practice around feeling thankful and grateful outside of saying we are grateful and thankful? That's a whole other story.

I truly believe in the depths of my heart that we are all here to make the world a better place. I also believe we spend a lot of time trying to do this externally.

Like you, I have heard the old adage 'if we don't love ourselves, how can we love anybody else'. Personally, I don't believe that, but after listening to a podcast back in 2021, I did start to investigate how kind I was being to myself and if this was having a flow on effect in my life.

Spolier alert - it was 😂
