In this rendition of The Way Out I’m overjoyed to bring you my interview with person in long term recovery and life coach Hayley Scherders. Hayley shares her journey to and through recovery to this point with us with remarkable authenticity and in extremely relatable fashion, and all along the way she sprinkles practical recovery and spiritual wisdom that we can all apply to our own recovery. One of the most enlightening of which is the wonderfully powerful idea and concept of having 5 seconds of courage in order to ignite a seismic and positive shift in our lives, such as choosing to begin our journey of recovery, or starting therapy, or giving up a counterproductive thought and/or behavior pattern, or as Hayley so eloquently stated and herself experienced, deciding to turn our past into lessons instead of life sentences. Indeed, the smallest of beginnings can mushroom into meaningful, positive and sustained change, such as reading some quit-lit, going to a recovery meeting, or listening to a powerful recovery story like the one that’s about to unfold before your very ears, so listen up.
