We talk about how the Indians might look at a few other starters to move this year if they are looking to get max value in deals. We talk about my concerns for this shortened season and why for a contender they have more question marks than most and really only two or three sure things. We spend a lot of time on players who have opted out, and how this will be a common theme this year. Players can opt out any time, and according to Joel Sherman many are likely to do it as the season progresses. A player could at any point and time after hitting service time requirements or if their team is way out of it decide to end their season early. We focus in on Michael Kopech due to issues with what Don Cooper said in regards to the young arm and also just due to the fact his opt out likely has the greatest effect on the Indians of any player so.

We talk about former friend Rob Kaminsky, and his return to his original organization. We talk about how I was wrong about every Brandon Moss deal. We talk a bit more draft, and how Tanner Burns is just one of two top 40 players who remain unsigned. Burns is the highest drafted player who remains unsigned. I spend some time mystified by the amount the Red Sox gave Nick Yorke, and other players who I would have taken myself. We talk about how the draft is shaping up in a year. We also talk a little more about names and some expansion talk at the end due to recent rumors.

We talk about the retirement of Brandon Guyer who is 7th all time in bWAR from the University of Virginia. We talk about his Tribe time and the players the Indians traded for him. We then dig into the first announced 55 man roster before then spending a little more time on the recent three additions which take the roster up to 58 with just 2 spots left open and which could stay that way to allow trades to occur later in the year.

We start out talking about local kids who have signed as undrafted FAs, and some general UDFA notes. Then we dig into the Indians recent signings and how Carson Tucker gets you a Petey Halpin. We talk about the money left for Tanner Burns and how much the Indians might spend on their last unsigned pick. We then dive into the name debate and point out it is a matter of time for now and we need to pick out what a good name could be. I dig into history to talk about what to tie the Indians to, but really have no great name to work so instead I turn to the fans for help.

We talk about the Reds and Dodgers who have been linked to the Indians and Lindor this year. neither team makes a lot of sense, and we also talk about why the Braves and Padres don't either before settling on a team that has one of the five best minors in baseball and also a shortstop locked up through 2023 who they could step right in for the Indians. The combination of a strong minors and a ready made replacement is unmatched by any other squad. In addition, they have made a big trade and signed multiple free agents showing that they are playing for now.

We talk about Mason Hickman and why he could be the steal of the draft. We dig into the numbers of Allen and Hickman, and then give a comp for Carson Tucker. We end by ranking all of the players drafted. From top to bottom there was not a single bad pick, just ones I might have preferred a little more.
