My friend Lauren Caselli once said that community isn’t just a group you learn with, its one you can learn from. 

I couldn’t agree more. The energy taken away, transferred, and shared when you’re around other people who are doing the thing is undeniable. 

That said, I realize that not everyone can be in “the room” all the time (we are in the middle of a pandemic, after all) so I created a virtual version. 

If you’re listening to this podcast, you’re my people, and I want you in the Mafia. Trust me, community is everything. Nothing will fill your cup more than being around people who share similar values and doing similar things.

Hailey wanted to know how I stick to the stuff that enriches my life, but the stuff that doesn’t necessarily bring in money or “improve business.”

The way I see it, your actions express your priorities.

So if you find yourself making your work a priority, clearly it’s something you value. Maybe that’s a good thing.

But if you find yourself choosing work when you really don’t want to, it might be time to look at things retrospectively. When something matters to you, you do it.

If play time matters to you, then do it.
