Markets are off their session highs on Wednesday's trade with grains and livestock mixed to lower. We discuss the pullback in the trade, this morning's CPI data and more with Arlan Suderman from StoneX in our Midday Commentary.
We saw wheat trade enter some overbought territory and pull back on Tuesday with Chicago and KC the downside leader in grains. New, expanded tariffs on Chinese goods by the Biden Administration also seemed to weigh on the grain markets somewhat along with CONAB raising their Brazilian soybean estimate about 1 million metric tons.
Meantime, the livestock trade saw a strong surge higher led by cattle on Tuesday and we got more hot inflation data out as well. Tyler Schau with AgMarket.net joins us to discuss the markets on today's show. Learn more at https://www.agmarket.net.
Grains are mixed at midday with market concerns over new inflation data, new tariffs on China by the Biden Administration and updated crop estimates from CONAB in Brazil. Livestock are seeing some strength at midday though. We discuss markets with Arlan Suderman, Chief Commodities Economist at StoneX.
Wheat was the upside leader once again with strong gains in all three classes amid more weather concerns in Russia and around the world. Corn and soybeans were slightly higher as they followed the money flow in wheat while cattle and hogs largely fell apart late in the session. We discuss the early week market action today with John Heinberg from Total Farm Marketing. Learn more at https://www.totalfarmmarketing.com.
