Don't look now but grain markets are trying to rebound off overnight and morning lows as we wrap up the month of May. The bigger story though is that demand concerns are abundant in the marketplace. We discuss with Arlan Suderman, Chief Commodities Economist at StoneX.

Tuesday was a rough day in the grain and oilseed markets as we saw heavy pressure in the soy complex, wheat and crude oil. That spilled over into corn as well, which tried to hold on much of the day but ended up lower. Meantime, hogs and cattle had a strong upside day with limit gains in lean hogs.

Friday saw the grain markets find a bid, with corn, soy, and wheat all pushing higher on the day. Donna Hughes of StoneX joined the show first with a look at the crop in the southern plains, followed by Brian Doherty of Total Farm Marketing, who outlined the potential moves in grains as the trade returns next week. Market Talk closed with Naomi Blohm, also of Total Farm Marketing, who has some reservations about beef demand as we get deeper in to summer.

Thursday's Market Talk began with Ted Seifried of Zaner Ag Hedge breaking down this week's export sales report for the grains and found a bright spot. Eric Snodgrass joined in segment 2 with a discussion of US and global weather. In the third segment, Emily Buckman, Director of Government Affairs with American Farm Bureau Federation spoke about the Right to Repair agreements they've negotiated. And the show closed with Arlan Suderman speaking to Richard Ristvit of the American Ag Network

Wednesday's Market Talk began with Garrett Toay of Ag Trader Talk who was on the split trade in corn and wheat. In segment 2, Steve Meyer of Partners in Production Agriculture spoke at the Global Hog Industry Virtual Conference this morning and we heard his thoughts on pork. Arlan Suderman spoke with Mike Adams on the AOA radio show on Wednesday morning, so we listened in on his thoughts and the show closed with Joe Kerns, also of Partners in Production Agriculture who's looking ahead for input prices to moderate.

Today's on Market Talk, Jesse brought a conversation with Total Farm Marketing in segment 1 about some new technology they are leveraging to help growers. In segment 2, Darin Newsom joined the show with a look at the global markets, and Jim McCormick of AgMarket.Net looked at the impact on the cattle industry of the debt limit fight in Congress. The show closed with farm broadcaster Rich Ristvit talking grains with Arlan Suderman of StoneX.
