In this first part of their 2 part conversation, Clint explains to Rachel the years-long process of questioning his faith that ultimately led him away from the Christian church. Dr. Heacock also breaks down the fundamentalist roots of evangelical Christianity and explains how it relates to today's religious right. Together, Rachel and Clint discuss the fear-based doctrines used in both religion and cults and the damage they can inflict on believers.
