Are you looking for some advice for strengthening your skills as a lawyer? In this episode of the Maximum Lawyer Guild Live Show, host Tyson Mutrux leads a dynamic discussion on lost leads in customer service, the top interview question job candidates should ask, and the ethics of employee poaching in tech.


Using a training video of an initial client call, Tyson talks about lost leads in customer service and how firms can improve communication and establish processes with clients. It is important to know when to simply sign up a client as opposed to trying to get every piece of information. For this caller, they just needed help and the employee was focused on typing everything down, pressing for photos and using escalating behaviour. In contentious situations where callers are distressed, it is best to let them speak and provide a comforting environment where the person feels heard and the employee shows empathy. 

Tyson delves into questions that candidates should ask to uncover real company values. One of the questions is focused on having the manager describe the kind of person that should not work for the firm. For a manager, this will catch you off guard. But for a prospective candidate, this will allow you to understand how the company sees themselves and the kind of traits and attributes they hold close and value. It will also give you clarity on if it is the type of firm you are wanting to work for.
