Happy Summer to everyone! Summer means sun; sun means full-spectrum light; full-spectrum light means red and near-infrared light; red and NIR light means happy mitochondria! That was a long-winded way of saying that on this week's solosode of The Red Light Report, we will once again be reviewing the fundamentals of the mitochondria. This is quintessential to appreciating red light therapy, as red light therapy directly affects the mitochondria, which provides countless health, wellness and longevity benefits.
The first part of the episode covers why the mitochondria is vital for our health, wellness, and longevity. If you're into the science and how things work, Dr. Mike Belkowski discusses three of the most important names in the world of the mitochondria and water: Dr. Doug Wallace, Dr. Jack Kruse and Dr. Gerald Pollack.
In the second half of the episode, I cover more fundamentals of the mitochondria, the electron transport chain, how they kill themselves off, and how to best optimize your mitochondria.
