Pat Divilly has been one of Ireland's most well-known trainers and personal coaches but it was fascinating to speak to him this week about his failures in his 20s, how he had to start over and why, despite being successful, he decided to give it all up to focus on what actually made him happy.
It's a really insightful and honest interview where Pat admits freely to his flaws and masks he's worn in life, but, he says, finding meaning and purpose for yourself, not what society and people think, is what's most important.
"Motivation is temporary," he tells me. "You can will yourself to do something in the short term, but inspiration is long term. Ask yourself, why do I do what I do?"
"If you’re disillusioned, the dream starts the day you show up with a new sense of purpose. Success is about moving in the direction towards you want to go. Twelve months from now, where would you like to be? If you were to have the most amazing year of transformation, what would have happened?"
