It’s likely that we have all made a bad hire before but it’s what you do after making the hire that’s going to make or break the type of work environment you are trying to build for your business. In this episode, Brian shares a behind-the-scenes look at the advice and framework he gives to clients when dealing with a new hire that isn’t meeting expectations as well as insight into what a good hiring system looks like to set your employees up for success. 

The framework Brian uses with his clients is:

1. Asking questions to understand why the business owner is unhappy with their new employee. 
2. Following up with questions that bring clarity to any gaps in the hiring process that may have led to this unsatisfactory hire.
3. Gathering the answers from the business owner to determine what went wrong during the hiring and onboarding process. 
4. Combing through every step of the hiring process to refine (or add) the proper systems.
5. Making a final assessment on whether or not to give the employee another chance to succeed given the right tools.
6. If the answer to giving the employee another chance is yes, forming an immediate plan of action to rectify the issues at hand. 
7. After resetting the foundation, 4 steps to manage this for the long term.
