Rick Jones joined the Mizzou staff as special assistant to head coach in February, 2020. He coached at the collegiate and high school levels for 40+ years, including 16 seasons at Greenwood High School in Arkansas.

Jones’ high school coaching stops include Del City, Edmond Memorial, Tulsa Union and Broken Arrow High Schools, all in Oklahoma, and Greenwood High School, in Arkansas. He spent three seasons as an assistant to Jesse Branch at Missouri State.

In his 31 seasons as a high school head coach, Jones accumulated a record of 317-74, with a winning percentage of 81%, and is an 18-time coach of the year honoree. He was named the 2012 National Federation of High Schools National Football Coach of the Year, was named the 2018 AFCA Power of Influence National Coach of the Year, was inducted to the Oklahoma High School Coaches Association Hall of Fame (2013), and was inducted to the Harding University Athletic Hall of Fame (2016).

A walk-on linebacker at Division II Harding University in Searcy, Ark., Jones earned a bachelor’s degree in physical education and a master’s degree in education. He remains in the Bison single-season record book, tied for third all-time in blocked kicks with two (1974), and tied for third all-time with three fumbles recovered (1975).

Jones is a former member of the Arkansas Activities Association Football Advisory Board, and an active member of the American Football Coaches Association and Missouri High School Football Coaches Association. He has been honored by the Positive Coaching Alliance.

Jeremy left the band in 2003, married his Jr High/High School sweetheart, Jenny, and returned to college in 2004, receiving his bachelor’s degree in Sports Medicine & Athletic Training from Missouri State University in 2008.

Working directly in the field of fitness, sports performance, sports recovery, and strength & conditioning now for over 2 decades, Jeremy has trained, developed, and poured into competitive athletes of all ages, levels, and sports. In his professional career, he has helped over 30 athletes from SWMO receive full or partial athletic scholarships to play at the NCAA D1, D2, and NAIA levels in everything from golf, soccer, lacrosse, volleyball, baseball, basketball, and football.

An accomplished athlete in his own right, from 2009 - 2013 Jeremy qualified 5 consecutive times as an individual competitor for the CrossFit Games Regionals and was at one point ranked amongst the Top 100 men in the world, leading to sponsorships with 1st Phorm as an Elite Athlete and Lululemon as an Official Brand Ambassador.

Jeremy serves as a member of The Springfield Sports Commission Board of Directors, volunteers annually as an Honorary Coach for the Bass Pro Tournament of Champions, and also serves as Vice President of The Kickapoo High School Boys Basketball Booster Club.“

Dawn Ellerbe joined Vanderbilt University as the inaugural Assistant Vice

Chancellor for Athletic Communications and Senior Associate Athletic Director

in March 2023.

Previously at California State University Northridge (CSUN), Ellerbe served as

Associate Athletics Director for Marketing, Branding and Fan Development. In

that role, she was a part of the athletics senior leadership team and oversaw

external operations for the 19 NCAA varsity programs at CSUN, including

conference and NCAA postseason competition.

No stranger to the SEC, Ellerbe spent four years at South Carolina early in

her career as Director of Marketing. During that time, a number of programs

experienced overall growth in fan affinity, attendance and ticket sales. She

created successful strategies for new community outreach campaigns

contributing to the literacy, health and wellness, and philanthropic initiatives

for the department. In 2022, she received the Southeastern Conference

Trailblazer Award for contributions to the growth of women’s athletics in the

SEC in celebration of the 50th Anniversary of Title IX.

A New York native, Ellerbe earned her bachelor’s degree in journalism from

South Carolina and master’s degree in communications from Wyoming. A

U.S. Olympian and a Pan American Games gold medalist in the hammer

throw, Ellerbe placed seventh in the 2000 Olympic games and has won 16

national titles. She is a member of the University of South Carolina Athletics

Hall of Fame and is one of only three track and field athletes to have their

jersey retired by South Carolina, where she won four NCAA titles, five SEC

championships, and was a six-time All-American for the Gamecocks.

Ellerbe has completed the NCAA Dr. Charles Whitcomb Leadership Institute

and the NCAA Pathways Program. She is a member of Women Leaders in

College sports and has served on the NCAA Women’s Basketball

Advancement Committee. This spring, she will be inducted into both the South

Carolina Athletic Hall of Fame and the Suffolk Sports Hall of Fame for her

contributions to athletics and the sport of track and field.

Tyler has been the Head Coach of the Savannah Bananas since 2018. In his tenure, the Bananas have had over 30 players drafted into the MLB while also winning Back-to-Back CPL Championships in 2021 & 2022 before going ALL-IN on Banana Ball. Tyler played a role in creating the original Banana Ball rules and attending the first ever Banana Ball game at Lander University in the Fall of 2018.

In 2017, Gillum set a life goal to “have a positive impact on 1,000,000 people”. On that journey, he found the Bananas, and together they have been leading the charge in creating what ESPN called “The Greatest Show In Sports”. Banana Ball has traveled to over 50 cities selling out stadiums nationwide. In 2024 alone, the Bananas played in 30 cities plus 6 MLB stadiums with over 1,000,000 fans in attendance. In 2025, they will play in 17 MLB stadiums, 4 football stadiums surpassing 2,000,000 fans.

Before Banana Ball, he coached college baseball for 13 years. He spent 11 years at South Mountain Community College in Phoenix, Arizona from 2011-2022. During his time at SMCC, Gillum was the Associate Head Coach and the Director of Exercise Science, overseeing all the Strength & Conditioning for Athletics. During those college years, he coached 10 summers of summer collegiate baseball spending time in the Cape Cod League and winning 3 Championships in the Texas Collegiate League.

Additionally, Gillum is a keynote speaker at conventions and clinics around the country specializing in culture, team building, infield development and baserunning. His motto “Bet On Yourself” has raised thousands of dollars to buy custom “Bet On Yourself” baseball gloves for kids across America.

Gillum out kicked his coverage by marrying Danielle Gillum in 2019. Together they have a 4-year-old son named Camden.
