We know that there's a lot that we're up against as parents. We know that game technology, and a lot of the apps on phones and on-screen devices are created in a certain manner to get you to be addicted and to want to do it over and over again. But regardless, we have to be able to extract from it in some way, shape, or form.

As moms, we would do anything to protect our kids. Their safety and mental health is always on our minds. In this interview with Lauren Cikara of Active Minds, we provide actionable tools you and your child can use to cope with difficult emotions, as well as ways parents can work with the schools to protect your children’s mental health.
Lauren has dedicated her career to advocating on behalf of youth to ensure they have opportunities to learn, grow and lead as healthy and engaged participants in their communities. Her work at Active Minds helps create resources that support K-12 youth in changing the conversation about mental health.
And having a conversation is exactly where to start when it comes to helping protect our kids’ mental health. We hope that after listening to this week’s podcast, you sit down with your family and have that talk.

We've all done it. Something happens (or sometimes, almost nothing happens) and you end up losing it and you yell with such fury that your voice cracks. We’ve all been there. And often right afterward, we feel ashamed or guilt-stricken that we yelled.
In this podcast episode, we will share that you aren’t alone and that there are ways to break the habit of yelling, how to be aware of what’s going on around you when you are feeling frustrated and feel that need to yell, strategies that you can use to help you not yell when you’re upset, and finally how to handle things after yelling.
