As parents, we often teach our kids about manners, being nice to others, and what it means to be a good friend. However, parents rarely spend as much time teaching our kids how to talk to other kids with disabilities and that it’s okay to be friends with someone, no matter who they are, or what disability they might have.
In this episode, we speak with Stephanie Wolfe, author of Authentically Addie, lifestyle blogger and social media content creator of The Vintage Modern Wife. Stephanie focuses her every day on sharing her family’s life with others in an attempt to normalize conversations about disabilities and assure readers of the limitless possibilities and positive potential in life, regardless of circumstances.

As our kids grow older things like college start becoming more and more of a necessity. And if the idea of dealing with the applications, the acceptances, and the inevitable denials aren’t enough to make you want to cut and run, let’s not forget the issue of paying for college.
In a 2020 survey, more than two-thirds of parents of college-bound children say that they are very worried about having enough money to pay for their child’s college education.
In this episode, we have Ron Lieber, the NY Times Your Money columnist, author of THE PRICE YOU PAY FOR COLLEGE, and father to two daughters, 6 & 14. He shares with us some tips to help squash that guilt tied to whether or not we can pay for college and helps us create a road map for making the biggest financial decision many of us will make as a family.

Too often as parents, we’ve fallen into the trap of punishing our kids in the heat of the moment after something’s happened. Maybe they hit their sibling, are failing math, or asked to go to the park, but ended up at Starbucks. Whatever happened, everyone’s upset now and when emotions are high, we often don’t make the best parenting decisions.
In this episode, we discuss the difference between logical consequences and punishments, as well as how to make an effective logical consequence that will have a positive impact on your discipline at home.
