During the summer, parenting can become even more challenging.
We, as adults, can't take the whole summer off. We still need to work and pay our bills. In addition, now we have to entertain our kids while they are not attending school.
Since buttons get pushed, and we may feel overwhelmed, we sign them up for this, that, and the other thing.
While some activities are wonderful, others are exhausting because they add commuting and stress to our already crammed to-do list.
So how do we identify what is helping our kids and what is preventing them from developing emotional resilience? How do we manage our own emotions and self-care so we don't get overwhelmed? How do we spend valuable time with them without telling them exactly what to do at all times?
Today I want to share three parenting myths that cause harm, especially in nuclear families when parents are the only family members raising their children.
I want you to challenge these myths this summer while you hang out with your kids, nieces, nephews, or your friends' children. Then let me know how it worked for you.
What I mention in this episode:
What you'll learn from it:
Thank you so much for being here with me. I hope this helps you and makes you feel more relaxed.
Happy summer, Kavetha
PS- As a mom, I want to create a beautiful legacy I'm proud to pass on to my child.
And I know that you want to do it for your kids too. But maybe you don't know how to become your own source of inner peace, an inner peace that will allow you to create meaningful relationships with your children and other people.
