Podcast Like It's ...

Set phasers to fun! (I'm sorry) This week on the Podcast, Phil talks to writers Emei Willis (on the forthcoming STAR TREK: LOWER DECKS) and Sean Bennett (ELEMENTARY) about the documentary TREKKIES. They talk about their own relationships with the Star Trek franchise and the late 90s documentary take on fandom then versus now.

Oi Bruv! This week Phil hosts the pod solo and talks to Jaan Kittask, the man behind our lovely cover art and more importantly our theme song! He is here to talk to Blur's 1999 album 13 and The Death of Britpop in general. Its a great conversation about a fascinating topic, innit.

That's right this week we aren't talking A Bachelor but THE Bachelor... well no, not that The Bachelor. The original The Bachelor, you know with Chris O'Donnel and Renee Zellweger, about a guy who can you believe this just Does Not Want to be TIED DOWN. Anyway Kenny, Phil and Special Guest Writer/Producer Toby Herman talk about it and give their thoughts on Chris O'Donnel in the 90s.

This week Kenny and Phil and special guest Norm Wilner, (senior film writer @ Now Toronto, Host of Someone Else's Movie Podcast) take a twisted trip to talk Neil Jordan's 1999 psychological horror movie IN DREAMS, starring Annette Benning, Robert Downey Jr., Aidan Quinn among others.

This week Kenny and Phil talk about the barely remembered and barely existent LA high school comedy, TRIPPIN, starring Deon Richmond, Donald Faison and Maia Campbell.    This episode was previously slated for a Friday Dump but due to scheduling issues is now our regular Wednesday drop, hope you enjoy us being baffled and daydreaming of a world where this movie was better.

This week Kenny and Phil talk THE BIG KAHUNA, the (tragically) Kevin Spacey starring adaptation of a recent (at the time) award winning play, The Hospitality Suite. Come listen to these two men talk and shout in a room about a movie that’s mostly three men talking and shouting in a room.

Did you know that Steve Martin had multiple comedies in 1999, do you know that it was a remake of a moderately successful Neil Simon movie, do you know that its was not only a flop critically but also a massive flop financially? Well if you did than you might have already realized that this week Kenny and Phil are talking about The Out-of-Towners on our Friday Dump.

This week Phil and Kenny talk about Three to Tango, a rom-com with the deliciously late 90's cast of Neve Cambell, Dylan McDermott and Matthew Perry. And in an effort to bring in a third dance partner and out de facto FRIENDS cast expert, writer and producer Tia Napolitano (Station 19, Grey's Anatomy).

We are taking the Dump Truck for a second ride as this Friday, Kenny and Phil talk about VIRUS, a film which can be best described by its star Jamie Lee Curtis once saying "That would be the all time piece of shit...It's just dreadful... That's the only good reason to be in bad movies. Then when your friends have [bad] movies you can say 'Ahhhh, I've got the best one.' I'm bringing Virus." Hope you enjoy!!

This week, Phil, Kenny and special guest Actress Rachelle Lefevre (Proven Innocent, Under the Dome) go Wilde for AN IDEAL HUSBAND, the witty adaptation of one of Oscar Wilde's most popular plays with starring Cate Blanchett, Minne Driver and Julianne Moore. Is it husband material or will they start writing up divorce papers?
