Podcast Like It's ...

Welcome to Friday Night Dumps, where we are going to take quick and dirty looks at some of the worst, most Rotten (less than 25% on Rotten Tomatoes) films of 1999. We kick it off by taking a look at INSTINCT, the Cuba Gooding Jr. and Anthony Hopkins thriller directed by Jon Turteltaub, that was a box office bomb and probably best remembered for a video cover you might mistake for Silence of the Lambs at a Blockbuster.

Kick It! This week we are busting out the CD Cases and cranking up the car stereo as we talk about some of the best jams, hits, songs and singles of 1999!

Alan Sepinwall (Rolling Stone) makes his triumphant return to Freaky Friday to discuss Discos and Dragons, the untimely demise and the long, storied legacy of one of the great series of all-time.

This week, Phil and Kenny break their furmat to dumpster dive into 2019’s meow-sical, Cats!

This week we are excited to have a dynamic duo of dames to talk about a dynamic duo with Danes. We bring on returning guests and stars of STATION 19, Danielle Savre and Barrett Doss to talk about BROKEDOWN PALACE, the Kate Beckinsale/Claire Danes thriller about a pair of high school grads getting into some trouble. We talk to them about acting, female dynamics on screen and what they thought about the movie then and now. This week we are excited to have a dynamic duo of dames to talk about a dynamic duo with Danes. Melancholy begins to arise as we begin to approach the end of this fun journey we have taken. This week we talk to Deputy TV Editor at Vulture and host of the The Next Picture Show, Genevieve Koski to talk about The Little Things, the penultimate episode of Freaks and Geeks, her relationship with the show, approaching the end of a great thing and our time with these characters.

We start to year off right with an incredibly special episode as we take a look back at one of the films we’ve already covered, 200 CIGARETTES, and we talk to some of the people involved in making. First of we have Betsy Beers, a producer on the film and a variety of hit television programs such as Grey's Anatomy and Scandal. And we also have actor Guillermo Diaz(Scandal) to y’all about the non speaking part he has in this film and his career. If any podcast was ever gonna get deep into the making of a 1999 Ben Affleck, Courtney Love, Kate Hudson vehicle you’re know it would be this one!

This Freaky Friday, Phil and Kenny are joined by writer, actress and comedian Becky Feldman(Talking Tom and Friends) move out of their parents' house to talk about Smooching and Mooching, the 16th episode of Freaks and Geeks.  We get into Becky’s relationship with the show, getting into fights with our parents, the awkwardness of having a crush and having to tell them, the power of smooching, our favorite moments from the episode and our thoughts on the beginning of the end for Freaks and Geeks as the show begins to come to a close for its first and only season.

This jolly old, merry old Christmas we are joined once again by one of our absolute favorites returning guests Vox’s Emily VanDerWerff to talk about the Christmas Cinema of 1999. We get into the Cheese, Shmaltz, Corny and maybe even Horny? Stuff that was released for or around Christmas in 1999 and what it says about how we were treating Christmas in ‘99. We also reminisce about our own Christmas’ that year and genuinely have a Merry old time talking to one of our nicest friends.

This Freaky Friday, Kenny and Phil are joined by TV writer Chuck Hayward(Dear White People, Mixed-Ish) and struggle to figure out whether to tell you that they talk about the Noshing and Moshing, the 15th episode of Freaks and Geeks. We get into Chuck’s relationship with the show, going to parties, being attracted to older people, having to keep secrets from someone and our favorite moments from the episode.
