How procrastination differs from postponing und delaying

Procrastination (English) with Deacon Joseph Ferrari

‘Everyone procrastinates but not everyone is a procrastinator.’

Do you think you ‘work best under pressure’? Then listen on!

In this episode in the English language, Laura welcomes guest Deacon Joseph Ferrari, Professor of Psychology & St. Vincent de Paul Professor at DePaul University, and author of the popular book: “Still Procrastinating? The No Regrets Guide to Getting It Done” to speak on the topic of chronic procrastination, which effects 20% of men and women.

In this enthralling conversation, Deacon Joe clarifies how procrastination differs from delaying and postponing, how it relates to perfection, failure and success; and procrastination vs prioritising.

He explains concepts such as self-handicapping, situational procrastination, academic procrastination, regrets. He touches on imposter syndrome/phenomenon and discusses time management – ‘we cannot manage our time; we manage our life.’

A really thought provoking, inspiring conversation, with Deacon Joe finishing with the sentiment – ‘you learned to be a procrastinator, so you can unlearn’. Enjoy!
