Research shows that fasting causes a total body rejuvenation. It takes the first 24 hours for the body to begin the rejuvenation process at a cellular level where new cells clean out the old, worn out cells. It takes 3 days for the body to reach a peak and another day for the old cells to die off. 


Dr. Kelley recommends a fast once a month for 3-4 months. Because of the shock it can give the body, Dr. Kelley does not recommend a long fast with any underlying medical condition. Consult with your physician before starting a fast.
