Join us as we dive into environmental health with Carring Denning Jackson. Carrie is the Founder of Place as Medicine, an organization dedicated to building a healthier environment, from our homes to our neighborhoods and the broader world. Her mission is to share knowledge, elevate conversations, build healthy places, and drive change. Although she always recognized the importance of access to nature, physical activity, and social spaces, her perspective shifted after becoming a mother. Despite her 15-plus years in the industry, she was not fully aware of the profound connection between our living environment and our health. Carrie has spent her career working to enhance the places where we live, with roles at IBM Smarter Cities, Google's urban innovation team, Sidewalk Labs, and Jamestown LP, a global real estate investment and management company, where she leads their Innovation + Sustainability teams. She holds a BA, MA, and MBA from Stanford University and is on the board of the New York State chapter of The Nature Conservancy.

Braci Dutton is a wife, mother, and wellness educator who hit rock bottom with food addiction before finding lasting healing through clean living. For years, she felt trapped in cycles of bingeing, exhaustion, and shame—parenting from the couch and wondering why she couldn't "just have more willpower." But everything changed when she became a mom and realized something deeper was going on. That's when she uncovered the truth: the food industry was designed to keep her addicted.
Instead of staying stuck, Braci took her power back. She learned how to read labels, detoxed her pantry and her home, and began rebuilding her health from the inside out. Today, she's dedicated her life and career to helping other women do the same—through food, beauty, and lifestyle education rooted in truth, simplicity, and freedom. She believes women deserve to feel good again, not just in their bodies, but in their motherhood, their minds, and their everyday lives.

This episode is inspired by our logo—the Tree of Life. At the trunk of our tree is real food, whole, unprocessed, single-ingredient food. It grounds us. It's what we turn to again and again for nourishment and stability. From that trunk come our roots… and from those roots grow our branches: sleep, movement, spirituality, mindset, service, purpose, and all the beautiful things that make life worth living, allowing us to truly thrive, starting with the roots.

But something shifted when we found a space to heal with others. We'll share our stories, some listener questions, and why connection might be the most underrated tool in food recovery.
