    Years of Service: 1995-Present

    Derek started his law enforcement career with the Buhl Police Department in 1995 before transferring to the Gooding County Sheriff’s Office where he is currently a Detective with the narcotics unit. Derek began his career in Gooding County as a detention deputy and eventually went to patrol where he worked general patrol duties for a year and a half and then transferred to detectives. As a detective, Derek worked on general felony enforcement cases such as violent crimes against persons, sex crimes, crimes against children, and homicide.

    Years of Service: 1976-2017

    Dale began his law enforcement career with the Boise Police Department in 1976. He started his career on patrol but eventually worked in specialized units including SWAT, the Special Victims Unit, the Vice Unit, the Repeat Offenders Unit, and the Narcotics Unit. Dale also served as a canine handler. Shortly after retiring from the Boise Police Department, Dale became the undersheriff for the Boise County Sheriff’s Office which is a county with a population of 7600 people and consists of 1900 square miles.

  • Episode 3 Gooding County (Idaho) Sheriff Shaun Gough
    Years of Service: 1990-Present

    Sheriff Gough began his law enforcement career with the Gooding County Sheriff’s Office in July of 1990. He started his career operating a riverboat for the Sheriff’s Office and eventually transitioned to a patrol car covering 760 square miles and a population of about 10,000 people. In 1996, at the age of 28, Shaun became the youngest person ever elected to the office of Sheriff in the State of Idaho and in that time has seen Gooding County grow from about 11,000 to nearly 16,000 people.

    Interview with retired FBI Special Agent Myron Hitch Years of Service: 1964-1988 Myron began his career in law enforcement in 1964 with the FBI. Myron started in the Denver Division where he worked in general investigations before moving to the Chicago Division. In Chicago, Myron worked on investigations that included fugitive apprehension, civil rights cases, white slave trafficking cases, organized crime, and foreign counterintelligence cases. In 1967, Myron was transferred to the Los Angeles Division where he investigated cases including bank robberies, fugitives, kidnappings, extortion, and narcotics. During this time Myron also served on the Special Weapons and Tactics team better known as SWAT, and from 1979 to 1988 served as the SWAT Team Commander. In 1984, he was responsible for the planning of the FBI’s security measures for the 1984 Olympic games.

    Sam, as her friends call her, began her career in law enforcement in 1980 and served until she retired in 2012. Sam began her career with the Kern County Sheriff’s Office in California before transferring to the California Highway Patrol. Eventually, she moved to Idaho where she began working as an officer with the Buhl Police Department. She would later work for the Jerome County Sheriff’s Office, Twin Falls County Sheriff’s Office, and Gooding County Sheriff’s Office. During that time she worked as a deputy, sergeant, lieutenant, chief deputy, and detective.
