We encountered a metric that we are struggling to define. I figured it was worth reaching out to you guys to see if you had found out more than we have. For US brands, Amazon recently added a report called Brand Performance. It can be found under Reports - Business Reports - By ASIN - Brand Performance. As seen in the screenshot below, shows a couple of different metrics, including “Average Customer Review” and “Number of Customer Reviews”.  
 
The issue is that the “number of customer reviews” is quite ambiguous and does not match other customer review measures we have. E.g., for the product on second line (the one with 5 in average customer reviews), our written reviews in the below time are 9. However, our total product rating for the product increased by 67 in that time frame. So, it is not written reviews, it is not total rating, so the question is, what is it? I escalated this to Amazon account managers etc and hit a bit of a wall. Have you our anyone else at MAG figured out what exactly this metric measures?
