On this week's episode of the Rise and Run Podcast we start with the gangs updates on training, why now is a good time to start trying your fuel options and how sometimes life gets in the way of training. Also, runDisney dropped the themes for Springtime Surprise, and three of our listeners correctly picked a Pixar theme back on episode 42. One listeners even correctly picked the theme for the 10-Miler; listen and find out who! The gang then gives their take on the theme and event weekend.
We then had the pleasure of speaking with fellow podcast host Jill Angie, from Not Your Average Runner. We discussed how she got started running and how she is helping other women start running to reach their goals. Jill also discusses her coaching, online programs and has a little example of her coaching on the episode.
In this weeks Race Report we talk with Jeff who ran the Woofstock Survivor 5k and Dog Walk in Fishers, Indiana on August 13th.

This episode of the Rise and Run Podcast has a bit of everything! We kick things off with our usual chat about how our training is progressing. Then Bob and our guest host Holly, share some of their tips on how to increase your walking speed. Both Bob and Holly have learned to lower their walking paces to 13 minutes/mile - and sometimes even a little faster. We hope that some of our tips will help you lower your pace - maybe even to the 16 minute mile it takes to stay in front of the balloon ladies.
Our special guest this week is Matt Marcella. You may not recognize Matt's name, but you've almost certainly seen his work on social media. Matt talks with us about:
Finally, we have 2 guests in this week's Race Report Spotlight. We spoke with our friend Ruth from California and Shelene told us about her "meet and greet" during the Alaska Distance Classic Double-Up. You definitely will not want to these stories.

The themes for the 2023 runDisney Springtime Surprise will be released soon, which led us to ask, "If you could design a runDisney race weekend, what would your themes be?" Listeners supplied us with a bunch of great suggestions, and the Rise and Run gang chimed in with ideas of their own. Let us know what you think of them! We're betting that the Springtime Surprise themes are going to be somewhere in the list.
Lisa, The Castle Runner, honored us with a visit this week. You'll enjoy hearing her story of how she left her career in law to move just north of Walt Disney World, where she can listen to the train whistle and see the fireworks from her bedroom window. Lisa talks about her blog, The Castle Run, her awesome playlists, and her experiences with runDisney. She also gave us a brief review of the 2022 EPCOT Food and Wine Festival, and we chatted a bit about some of her other business interests.
Finally, our friend Lara joined us in the Race Report Spotlight to tell us about the Skunk Ape 30K trail run in Dade City, Florida!

Come along with us for the party that is Episode 41! We'll start with a quick update on the progress of our training and then share our thoughts on the recently released medals for Wine & Dine Weekend.
For most of the episode, we visit with our friends from the #RunDopey Facebook group. We discussed many topics, including how this active and fun group started and grew; the virtual runs they sponsor; some of the merchandise they've made available (including, of course, the famous #RunDopey Goodrs); their support of various charities, and the future of the group. If you already know this group, you're going to love hearing from your friends. If #RunDopey is new to you, you'll want to consider joining them.
Also in this week's Race Report Spotlight, we spoke with Jennifer who recently returned from Eugene, Oregon, the site of the World Athletics Championships. Jennifer tells us about running the ASICS Uplift 5K on part of the World Championship Marathon course.

On this week's episode of the Rise and Run Podcast, we finish our wonderful conversation with Olympian and runDisney Training Consultant, Jeff Galloway. During part 2 of this discussion we ask your listener questions about nutrition, mental struggles while running, and Jeff sits down in the hot heat to answer Allie's rapid fire questions.
Before chatting with Jeff, the gang provides updates on our training as we finish week 2 of the Walt Disney World Marathon Weekend training schedule, and we have a meaningful discussion of how to handle running in the summer heat, and why you should pay attention to the dew point.
Also, in a new feature of the podcast, we are joined briefly by our friend Margrett to get a live race report from her race this past holiday weekend!

On this week's episode of the Rise and Run Podcast, we had the distinct pleasure of speaking with the man, the myth, the legend, former Olympian and runDisney Training Consultant Jeff Galloway! Mr. Galloway has positively impacted thousands of runners for decades with his innovative run/walk/run method, and we are absolutely honored that he was willing to take the time to speak with us!
In part 1 of our interview, Jeff tells us the story of how the run/walk/run method was developed, and then answers your listener questions about the magic mile, training, and race day strategies, including tips for those running the Dopey Challenge!
The gang also takes some time to provide training updates, our successes in registering for the 2023 runDisney Princess Half Marathon Weekend, and Lexie fills us in on her recent 10K she completed in Iceland (and here is a hint...the cold never bothered her anyway!).
