Yes, boundaries. A word that has scared me for the best part of my life. I truly believed I could die if I ever set a boundary for myself. 

How do you feel about setting boundaries with your mother?

Narcissist will react very badly to boundaries, they will get nasty, raging, they’ll say things to hurt, they’ll threaten to go or not talk to you anymore. Or they could go condescending, telling you that you are a poor weak thing that can’t cope, or that you have some major mental issues….

Ever being there?

Setting boundaries with a narcissistic mother or any other family member with narcissistic behaviour is no easy task. 

Especially considering that a mother with narcissistic behaviour has trained you since you were a child that boundaries are bad.
