Dr Leila Farahani is a Research Fellow at Centre for Urban Research working as a member of the Clean Air and Urban Landscape Hub. She conducts industry and government funded research in monitoring and evaluating public and green spaces, with a particular focus on how the built environment and physical structure of neighbourhoods impact residents.
She holds a PhD in urban studies from Deakin University and has a Masters Degree in Architecture from University of Tehran. She has also practised as an architect and urban designer for several years.
Her research interests include greening, public life studies, liveability, sustainable urban development, socio-cultural studies and environmental psychology. She is currently working on a number of projects which are based upon monitoring and evaluating neighbourhood public and green spaces, liveability, sense of community and social life.  

دکتر لیلا فراهانی از مرکز مطالعه شهری دانشگاه RMIT و یکی از پژوهشگران عضو مرکز "Clean Air and Urban Landscape Hub" در شهر ملبورن است. او پژوهش هایی در زمینه  نظارت و ارزیابی فضاهای عمومی و سبز انجام می دهد و تمرکز خاصی بر نحوه ایجاد محیط و ساختار فیزیکی محله ها بر ساکنان دارد.
خانم فراهانی مدرک دکترای مطالعات شهری از دانشگاه دیکین است و مدرک کارشناسی ارشد معماری از دانشگاه تهران دارد. او چندین سال به عنوان معمار و طراح شهر فعالیت کرده است.
زمینه های مطالعاتی او شامل فضاهای سبز، توسعۀ پایدار شهری، زیست پذیری شهری و مطالعات اجتماعی و فرهنگی و روانشناسی محیطی است و در حال حاضر بر روی پروژه هایی در همین زمینه ها کار می کند.
یک نظرسنجی که در سال 2016 توسط مرکز LifeLine انجام شده نشان داده که ۶۰ درصد از استرالیایی های احساس تنهایی می کردند و ۸۲ درصد از افراد معتقد بودند تنهایی در حال افزایش است. با خانم فراهانی گفتگویی داشتیم درباره احساس تنهایی شهرنشینان استرالیا و راهکارهایی که متخصصان طراحی شهری برای این مشکل ارائه می دهند.

Hossein Valamanesh is the senior sculptor recipient of the 2018 Helen Lempriere Scholarship. He presented his works “Conversations” created for the 2018 Sculpture by the Sea exhibition, Bondi. 

Hossein Valamanesh works across drawing, painting, sculpture and installation, as well as large-scale public projects and video.1 Born in Iran in 1949, he studied fine art in Tehran from 1967 to 1970 and immigrated to Australia in 1973. His art is characterised by its engagement with the natural world and its unique fusion of his Persian heritage with contemporary Australian life. Employing leaves, stones and earth along side ordinary domestic objects – a rug, an oil lamp, slippers – it reflects themes of home, distance, longing and love, as well as the complexities of identity and place.

حسین والامنش هنرمند نقاش و تندیس گر برجسته ایرانی-استرالیایی ساکن شهر آدلاید است. وی متولد تهران است، دیپلم نقاشی را از هنرستان هنرهای زیبا تهران دریافت کرده و فارغ‌التحصیل دانشگاه هنرهای زیبای ساوت استرالیا است. آقای والامنش از سال 1973 به استرالیا مهاجرت کرده و بیش از 40 نمایشگاه انفرادی، خلق تعداد زیادی آثار دائمی در شهرهای مختلف استرالیا و جوایز متعدد داخلی و خارجی، تنها بخشی از کارنامه هنری این هنرمند است. اخیرا این هنرمند ایرانی برنده یکی از معتبر ترین جوایز سالانه استرالیا برای مجسمه سازان استرالیایی به نام بورسیه یا اسکالرشیپ "هلن لمپریه" (Helen Lempriere Scholarships) شده و با دو اثر، از 18 اکتبر تا 4 نوامبر در بیست و یکمین نمایشگاه (Sculpture by the Sea) در سیدنی شرکت کرده است.

Some Muslim communities have expressed concern and disappointment over comments made by Prime Minister Scott Morrison in connection with the Melbourne Bourke Street attack last Friday.

Mr Morrison says the man behind the attack was a terrorist and claims he was suffering from mental health issues - are just an "excuse".

برخی سازمانهای وابسته به جوامع مسلمان مراتب نگرانی و نومیدی خود را نسبت به گفته های اخیر نخست وزیر اسکات موریسون در رابطه با حمله مرگبار یک نفر به عابرین پیاده و پلیس در مرکز تجاری شهر ملبورن در روز جمعه گذشته اعلام کرده اند.
آقای موریسون می گوید که عامل این حمله یک مرد تروریست بوده و ادعاهای مربوط به مشکلات روانی و روحی او "بهانه ای" بیش نیست.

دریافت جایزه دانشمند دانشجوی سال اکسون یا Exxon Student Scientist of the Year award، اختراع و همکاری با سازمان فضایی و هوانوردی آمریکا (ناسا)، فینالیست یک رقابت ممتاز دیگری علمی به نام "مخترع سال ایالت وسترن استرالیا" و انتخاب به عنوان یکی از سفیران علوم ایالت وسترن استرالیا تنها بخشی از دستاوردهای متعدد او است.
