Seahawks Forever w/ Dan Viens

The Seahawks are back on the field for their final mandatory minicamp before the long break leading into training camp — and while it’s still June football, there are real clues to watch.

Today I’m breaking down 5 key Seahawks minicamp storylines that could help shape the roster, depth chart and expectations heading into the summer. Which young players are pushing for bigger roles? What position battles are worth tracking? What can we learn from the offensive line rotation, the pass rush group, the rookies, and the overall structure of Mike Macdonald’s second-year team?

Plus, Seattle signed veteran offensive tackle Bobby Hart yesterday — so what does that move actually mean? Is it just camp depth, insurance, a response to injuries, or a sign the Seahawks still want more competition up front?

And we’ll also react to an NFL Network exercise building the best possible NFL roster while staying under the current salary cap. Which Seahawks made the cut? Which ones should have? And what does it tell us about the value on this roster?

2:43 Reaction to the Bobby Hart signing

The Seahawks Syndicate roundtable is back LIVE at 5:30pm PT with Bryce Coutts of The Hawks Eye, Brandon Cain of The Hawks Nest, and Mookie Alexander from Field Gulls joining Dan Viens to break down a huge week around the Seahawks and the NFC West.

The Rams made their big move by landing Myles Garrett, so what should Seattle do now? Do the Seahawks need to make a matching move, or should they hold firm and trust their process?

We’ll also dive into the Derick Hall extension, what his new deal says about Seattle’s roster-building philosophy, and who should be next in line for a major contract. Devon Witherspoon? Leonard Williams? Boye Mafe? Someone else?

Russell Wilson’s NFL career is officially in the books, and now the real debate begins: is he a Hall of Famer?

Today, I'lll break down the full case for and against Russ getting a gold jacket — from the Super Bowl win, 10 Pro Bowls, elite efficiency, rushing impact, and Seahawks legacy… to the lack of MVP votes, late-career decline, mixed playoff record, and a crowded quarterback ballot ahead.

We’ll compare Wilson’s résumé to other Hall of Fame quarterbacks, current candidates like Eli Manning, Matt Ryan, Philip Rivers, Ben Roethlisberger, Aaron Rodgers and Tom Brady, and ask the question that matters most:

Is Russell Wilson a clear Hall of Famer, a borderline case, or a Seahawks legend who falls just short?

The NFC West is still six weeks away from training camp, but the division already feels like it’s heating up.

On today’s NFC West Mixtape, Rob “Stats” Guerrera of the Gold Standard Network joins me as we look at how the Seahawks, Rams, 49ers and Cardinals keep trading blows before camp even begins.

The Garrett conversation has been run through the wringer, so today we widen the lens: division rivalries, roster pressure points, summer storylines, and which teams are actually positioning themselves best before the pads come on.

The NFC West isn’t waiting for camp.

It’s already running hot.

Thank you for watching NFC West Mixtape, our weekly recap and preview of all things happening in the best division in the NFL! Join us every week as we stream the show to both of our channels.

The Seahawks’ roster may look mostly set, but their salary cap plan is just getting interesting.

Tonight I’m joined by cap analyst Curtis Allen for a full Seahawks salary cap update. We’ll break down how much space Seattle currently has, how much flexibility they can realistically create, and what it all means for the two biggest contract situations on the roster: Devon Witherspoon and Leonard Williams.

What could those extensions look like? When could they happen? And how aggressive can Seattle still be while planning for both?

Plus, we’ll touch on one more thing: the Seahawks may not be completely done looking for pass-rush help. Something could still be quietly brewing.

BREAKING: The Seattle Seahawks have extended edge rusher Derick Hall on a 3-year deal worth $42 million, with a max value of $46.5 million and $21 million guaranteed. In this episode, I react to the deal, what it says about John Schneider’s roster-building plan, and why this may be Seattle’s answer to the expensive post-June 1 pass-rush trade market. At $14 million per year in base value, with up to $15.5 million annually, this is not elite edge-rusher money. It’s an early bet on an ascending young player before the price potentially gets much higher. The question is whether the Seahawks just bought low on a future breakout… or paid a projection price before Derick Hall has fully proven it. We’ll break down the contract, the timing, what it means for Mike Macdonald’s defense, and whether this changes Seattle’s need to keep shopping for another pass rusher.

Myles Garrett is off the table — and worse for the Seahawks, he’s reportedly headed to the Los Angeles Rams. That changes the entire NFC West conversation in a hurry. Multiple reports say the Rams are acquiring Garrett from the Browns in a package involving Jared Verse and draft compensation.

So now what?

The Seahawks were already connected to the idea of adding a true pass-rush “closer” for Mike Macdonald’s defense. But with Garrett now landing inside the division, Seattle’s question becomes even more urgent: do they have an answer?

Fortunately, the timing matters. With the June 1 window now here, teams have more flexibility to trade or move expensive veteran contracts while spreading out dead-money consequences. That could open up a broader pass-rush market beyond Garrett.

Tonight, we react to Garrett becoming a Ram, what it means for the Seahawks and the NFC West, and which names could still make sense for Seattle. Maxx Crosby? T.J. Watt? Kayvon Thibodeaux? Nick Herbig? Someone else entirely?

Garrett may be gone. But the Seahawks’ pass-rush search may just be getting started.

Could the Seahawks actually trade for Myles Garrett?

In this episode I debate MYSELF on both sides of the argument. One side says Seattle should be aggressive, take the big swing, and add one of the best defensive players in football. The other side says the cost — picks, money, age, and long-term cap impact — might be too much.

I'll look at how financially feasible it really is, whether it would make any sense for the Browns, whether it fits what the Seahawks are trying to build, and ultimately: who says no?

Who's side of the debate do YOU agree with? Listen for yourself and decide!

On this week’s NFC West Mixtape, I’m joined by Rob “Stats” Guerrera of the Gold Standard Podcast Network as we go team-by-team through the biggest “burning questions” facing the Seahawks, Rams, 49ers and Cardinals.

What is each team’s biggest unresolved issue? Which weakness could become a real problem? Which potential pitfall is being overlooked right now? And which NFC West contender has the most to prove before the season kicks off?

It’s a full division-wide look at the questions that could define the NFC West race.
