In this episode of The Brave Enough Show, Dr. Sasha Shillcutt and Latasha Ferguson discuss:
The biggest lessons we learn from setbacks
How limiting beliefs can creep in from unexpected places
How to not allow prior failures to stop us from taking brave steps and big risks
How community and peers are critical to our overcoming setbacks and failure
Quote:
"Often, as women, we count ourselves out before even thinking of counting ourselves in. We need community to help us remember who we are and what we can be." - Latasha Ferguson
Guest Bio:
Latasha is an educator, workshop facilitator, and leadership coach with over 20 years in the trenches as a teacher, assistant principal, principal, and now director of instruction. Because of her experience as a woman of color climbing the ladder, she has a deep desire to see women of color professionals whole. She's also the founder of the Mahogany Table Community, where black women professionals gather to reclaim their time, rediscover joy, and trade survival mode for full-on thriving.
When she's off-duty, Latasha's likely on a run, binge-watching a show, diving into a good book, or laughing so loud you'll hear her from across town. She's all about exploring new cities, tracking down food that feels like a hug for the soul, and cherishing time with her husband, four daughters, one grandson, and the beloved friends who keep her grounded (and laughing).
