Hello Sexyfit ladies and welcome to another Fit Friday!
Today I’m going to address the 9 reasons behind feeling bloated. Let me explain it in 9 simplest terms.
1)YEAST OVERGROWTH
Yeast overgrowth can be caused by SIBO - small intestinal bacteria overgrowth. When this happens you may experience bloating, gas, diarrhea or constipation. You can run different tests to discover if you have SIBO.
2)ALLERGIES
The common symptoms of food allergies are itching in your mouth, swelling, diarrhea, abdominal pain, hives or eczema, tightening of the throat, trouble breathing or drop in blood pressure. The best way to discover food allergies is through tests.
3)FOOD INTOLERANCE
It occurs when the body lacks a particular enzyme to digest that food. These reactions aren’t caused by the immune system and they are not life threatening. Food intolerance can be tested in labs.
4)FOOD SENSITIVITY
It means that someone has an unpleasant reaction to certain foods. If you suspect you are sensitive to certain foods, try eliminating these foods for 1 week and run a food diary to find out your food triggers.
5)STRESS
Anxiety can cause issues such as general over-breathing when you swallow more oxygen than necessary and that can cause bloating.
Get more mindful, organize things on your list and put yourself first.
6) LACK OF SLEEP
When you lack sleep you increase your cortisol level which stores in and around liver area, causing pressure in your stomach.
7)DEHYDRATION
Salt and added flavors in processed food cause you to retain a great deal of water. Even if it’s counterintuitive to bloating, drink, drink, drink your water!
8) LOW FIBER CONSUMPTION
Eating fiber-rich vegetables is the key for normal digestion. If you have a hard time with veggies, your choice may be a good fiber supplement.
9)HORMONES
Certain foods such as eggs, dairy, coffee or chocolate are estrogenic, which means our bodies confuse it for normal body estrogen. Our craving for chocolate during our menstrual cycle can be translated to our body sending us signals of magnesium craving and vitamin D deficiency. To avoid hormone related bloating, you can run a micronutrient panel at a lab.
