How important is having a sponsor? This episode features friend, mentor and Shane’s sponsor Buddy C. After nearly losing his life to alcoholism, it took Buddy 6 years of going back and forth from sobriety to relapse. He stayed in a 12 step program the entire time, and eventually figured out exactly what it was that he was missing. Since having this revelation, he has stayed sober and went on to work with other men in the program to help them get and stay sober. The guys also discuss how to work a program with and without a God belief. Towards the end of the show, Buddy tells how he would address a newcomer who desperately wants to get sober, but just can’t seem to figure out how to do it.
