  • The newly appointed medical advisor for Environ Skincare , Dr Matthias Aust.

I am so excited to introduce the newly appointed medical advisor for Environ Skincare, Dr Matthias Aust. Dr Aust began his journey with Environ and Dr Des Fernandes over 20 years ago as a sceptical young surgeon who believed the only way to make enhancements to skin was with a knife. It took Dr Des's influence to demonstrate otherwise. Now many years later, Dr Aust uses a combination of Environ skincare and surgery to revise scarring for burn victims. He is one of the world's leading researchers of skin needling, a modality pioneered by his mentor, and in 2010 Dr Matthias Aust completed his professor thesis on the topic: "Percutaneous Collagen Induction. If you are fortunate enough to work with Environ , or reap the rewards of being a client, then sit back and enjoy this new energy that's sweeping through.

  • Skin Cancer - Are we fighting a losing battle

Today I am joined by Dr Jenny Linders from Skincheck Clinic in Bayside, Jenny, under the guidance of Dr Steve Karagiannis, a fellow of the skin cancer institute, who spends most of their time doing melanoma surveillance in their five clinics dotted around Dublin. I have spent a considerable amount of my time campaigning for more awareness in this arena, as it sometimes feels that despite applying copious amounts of SPF, skin cancer continues to be the fastest-growing cancer in the world. We, as an industry, need to do more. My team and I have gone into schools to educate the next generation of parents, and I have worked with VHI on a corporate level, raising awareness and educating people. This is the only way to soften the curve, in my opinion. A podcast episode dedicated to what more we can do is a natural next step. For more information on Skin Check or to make an appointment to see Jenny, Steve, and their team, heads to https://www.skincheck.ie/contact-us. Thank you so much to Jenny for giving up her time to be with us today, and please share this episode amongst friends and family, and together, we will make a positive change for our children.

  • My Mum is a skin expert - Chatting skin, studying and more with my daughter Grace

I promised my younger self that I would never forget how it felt to be 15, and when the time came, if I were lucky enough to have children myself, I would make sure they felt seen, heard and important . With that in mind, I choose to sit with Grace, my firstborn daughter, three days before her first state exam. I wanted her to share her experience with problem skin and how she manages it, what songs soothe her and what makes her cry, as well as how she's feeling ahead of her Junior cert exam and how she's handled a transition to secondary school. I hope you enjoy it. Thanks as always to the team at Lusso Tan for bringing you today's episode of Skin Deep By Corinna Tola. Shop at lussotan.com with.

  • Chronically Resilient with Sylvia Abraham
Sylvia Abraham took the brave move of leaving her career as a social worker in the disability sector and following her passion for bespoke floral design. Just as her company, Bella Botanica, was ready to take off, the world and weddings came to a grinding halt due to a worldwide pandemic. During this period, Sylvia started to notice a resting tremor in her left arm, trouble sleeping and other symptoms of Parkinson's' disease. Still, her age, 44, would throw medics off, and it took another 24 months before she finally got a diagnosis of early onset Parkinsons. Sylvia leapt out of her comfort zone to join me on today's episode, but her strength, courage, and refusal to allow this disease to take over her world fueled her. • Could exfoliation be the cause of your skin issues

Every day we are bombarded with treatments and products looking to destroy , sand down and oblate the outer layer of skin called the Stratum Corneum. Some label it dead and useless, due to it being an annulated cell. However , I have always had a profound understanding and respect for this layer of skin in the context of overall skin health. Today I invited Tracy Tamaris, co-founder of IIAA and the lady responsible for bringing Environ skincare to the UK and Ireland, onto my podcast to discuss this. Tracy has long been a champion of the Stratum Corneum. She will share why it's so essential and clarify any misunderstanding on Vitamin A while also giving us insight into her favourite skincare products and supplements. Enjoy x

  • Drink less to stay more hydrated

Electrolytes are not just for athletes, tummy bugs and hen weekends. Electrolytes are salts and minerals like sodium, potassium, chloride, and bicarbonate. They're found in our blood and help conduct electrical impulses in the body.

They play an essential role in the nervous system, keeping you hydrated, contracting muscles, and regulating the pH system. When Clodagh O'Connor, creator and founder of G&G kombucha and Hydrate Electrolyte drink, sent me her product to try, I felt like I had been handed the missing piece in my performance puzzle. I found recovery was better. I was less fatigued, I slept better, and my digestion improved. I struggle to take in water during the day as I work with clients and can't run to the bathroom every few minutes, so this suits my lifestyle too. I drink less to stay more hydrated.
