No, today's Christian Nationalism is an entirely new phenomenon without historical precedent. What you see today, then, is a new project. And this new project isn't looking at elections over the next few years, but establishing dominion over the next few centuries.

To discuss this, we're joined by Dr. Michael McVicar (Associate Professor of Religion at Florida State University), Dr. Julie Ingersoll (Professor of Philosophy and Religious Studies at University of North Florida), Dr. Jerome Copulsky (Research Fellow at Georgetown University), and we interact with ideas from Katherine Stewart's work as well (writer for The New York Times, New Republic, and more).

Kevin Vallier (Professor of Philosophy at the University of Toledo) discusses the rise of Catholic Integralism, the Protestant response, and where Christian Nationalism fits into that picture (if it does at all).

From Catholic Integralism, we move forward a few hundred hears to the founding of the American Republic. Jerome Copulsky (Research Fellow at the Berkley Center at Georgetown University) analyzes the political and religious traditions of the 18th and 19th centuries, dispelling rumors about America's founding while providing a politically (and religiously) robust reading of the nation's constitution and supporting documents.

The emergence of the Young, Restless, and Reformed in the late 1990s and 2000s didn't come out of nowhere. Most were known by their rhetorical power, calvinistic soteriology, and movement-building prowess. But they've all got a spiritual father, a Patriarch, if you will.

Maybe you listened to the 2021 podcast series "The Rise and Fall of Mars Hill," and wondered, "Where did Driscoll come from?" Well, he took what Doug Wilson had written, and preached it. Driscoll appealed to men like never before, with an in-your-face message, that beat you up and left you satisfied, longing for more. Many others have followed in his wake, but like all modern philosophers to Plato, they're simply building on Wilson.
