On this episode, Linda and Dana talk to the author of The Golden Handoff Nick Krautter.  Nick shares how he created a process for helping agents handoff their business to another agent after going through the process himself when he absorbed the business of another agent at his office.  He discusses how difficult it is to stay at the 7th level of real estate because of turnover and overhead, and how that can often lead to it being easier for an agent to retire and have another agent adopt their business as a way of keeping the business still going.  He created a formula where the retiring agent just needs to know how much of their business comes from repeat and referrals and what their average commission is for them to know what they would profit and the adopting agent would profit over 3 years.  This allows agents who are wanting to work less of their database or none of their database to easily create a deal with another agent to take over their business.  His Golden Handoff workbook walks both agents through the process, and you can find it on his website at
